you may not like the position she took (frankly I am not enamored of it either) but she was against legalizing recreational marijuana and for medical.

I think that she can eventually gravitate fully towards decriminalization. I agree with you that she's not quite there yet.

She is for medical pot. Wants to see how the states legalizing it deal with its implementation and consequences. So do I. It makes sense to benefit from the experience of others. She didn't say she would never be for legalization. Good science has "clinical trials" to see what works and what doesn't I am ok with her answer. And her answer was a clear position. She said no and then explained why.
