2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI think everyone can agree this was a great debate
We all have our favorites, but in total it was spirited, respectful, diverse, issue-oriented, and just what we want to see in a serious debate.
The moderators, in my view, were awful, but the candidates - at least the top three - were impressive.

(10,435 posts)Even the bottom 2 were infinitely superior to the feces-flinging scumbags in the republicon debates.
And I have to say 'FUCK YOU DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ!!!!!!!!!"
Fuck you for inhibiting the message that was given to the American people tonight. It needs to be said MORE not LESS. Fuck you for restricting the message of every one of the 5 debaters tonight.
Fuck you for muzzling the response to ASSHOLE GREEDY republicons.
Fuck you, Debbie. Do you want a republicon president Debbie?

(26 posts)Sanders, Clinton and O'Malley in that order, IMHO.
The best line of the night was Bernie's bailing out Clinton on the emails, and focusing on issues. It's time, and the skeletonized horse thanks Bernie.

(16,685 posts)I thought it was poorly run and managed however. It was a debate not an interview...stop interrupting the fucking candidates! And let them all answer the same questions before moving on to another one! CNN blows.

(35,619 posts)...was when Bernie Sanders said that Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) also opposed an immigration bill as exploitive, and the questioner shouted, "Tom Harkin isn't running for president! You are!"
Sanders was showing that other progressives interpreted the bill as exploitive and he interpreted the bill in a reasonable way.

(11,833 posts)For me the highlight was Bernie Sanders telling Anderson Cooper and corporate media and republicans to shove it up their ass on the Hillary email thing, and then Hillary smiling and saying 'Thank you Bernie' and shaking his hand.
