It took the rw'ers a full day to think of it, but Bernie's a Nazi

They have come up with the witty idea that because they sound similar that Democratic Socialist means National Socialist (aka Nazi).

I think it was funny how they remained quiet for nearly 24 hours after the Democratic debate while one of the more clever righties came up with the Nazi argument.

I'm not even going to try to explain the lefty democratic socialism and how it differs from the righty national socialism (Nazi). These are the same people that struggle under varying forms of Obama Derangement Syndrome and think that the Honolulu news papers were in some grand conspiracy and published birth announcements for some baby born in Kenya under the idea that one day he might run for the White House and need the political cover.

I think it's funny that this will be the "argument" that the right will mercilessly beat to death like a dead horse. Bernie is not a nazi, I'm pretty sure of that.

This is just a warning as to what will appear in the news feed of your facebook from your crazy republican uncles, if it hasn't already.

Not to trash religious DUers, but I think that it is the same type of thinking that resonates with christian fundamentalists. They are taught to be angry at certain things and seek belonging in groups that are all motivated by similar feelings of Us vs Them. They reject logic and critical thinking if it goes against their angry groupthink where they feel comfortable.

Like I said, I'm not even going to try to debate them. They come from the same people who burned "witches" at the stake for suggested the Earth was round. You cant argue with that kind of stupid.

the idiots have representatives, the idiots ARE the representatives.

In the past most politicians of both parties were educated people who played a game with us to stay in power while appeasing us just enough, etc. etc.

These are not them.

These are dumbasses that you wouldnt trust to wash your car, let alone run the greatest democracy in history

Dear god, think about that for a minute

They have been hammering away at this theme for years, and they may think it's just generally understood that anything with the word "socialist" is related to the Nazis.

That's utter idiocy.

Without providing links, what hate groups are even saying this nonsense? And what morons would send that out on the internet to people who weren't sick-minded asses?

7. The National Review already beat them to it:

National Review just called Bernie Sanders a Nazi: “He’s driven by political hatred”

Williamson drew the comparison in a National Review column published on July 6 and adapted for National Review Online this week. Williamson describes Sanders as a “weirdo socialist from Soviet Beninjerristan” and dismissively refers to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as “Herself.” Williamson attends a Sanders rally in Iowa and quickly mocks Sanders supporters as “kids play-acting at politics” before accusing the campaign of planting volunteers in the audience to gin up support. “You get the feeling that after a beer or three one of these characters is going to slip up and let out a “comrade.” If it’s anybody, it’s probably going to be the grandmotherly lady in the hammer-and-sickle T-shirt,” Williamson writes. He then goes on to accuse the Sanders campaign of an “incessant reliance on xenophobic (and largely untrue) tropes holding that the current economic woes of the United States are the result of scheming foreigners”:

Aside from Grandma Stalin there, there’s not a lot of overtly Soviet iconography on display around the Bernieverse, but the word “socialism” is on a great many lips.

Of course this isn't that much different than what the red baiters say about Bernie here and at another site.

2. His commitment to socialism started early

Sanders' father's family was mostly wiped out during the Holocaust, and his father was a struggling paint salesman. Growing up in a working-class immigrant family in Brooklyn, "sensitivity to class was imbedded in me then quite deeply," Sanders told the New York Times in 2007.

After college, he spent time in Israel on a kibbutz, one of the state's experiments with socialism.
