2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI have not spoken about the primaries and I don't want to take sides
because I am a democrat and I will vote for whoever wins the primary. I do not want to say anything bad about who is in the primary because they may be our next presidential candidate.
That being said I am very grateful that Bernie Sanders has opened up the dialogue about the plight of the middle class, the terrible wealth inequality and a host of other things that up until now politicians have been kind of quiet about.
I also think that he is affecting Hillary and her perspective. Just looking at how people react to Bernie is a wake up call.
So I think this is a win win and I'm glad it is happening.

It's called being 'united"

(10,237 posts)Not since 1972 have we had this much of a devide between the democratic candidates ,thats why people are in each others faces .Its hard foe me to be passive in this election I agree with Bernie as much as I did with George McGovern in 72 .Maybe some of us old farts are as fired up as we were when we had ideals about peace and equality .
