Looking increasingly it will be Tommy Thompson (R) vs. Tammy Baldwin (D) here in WI for Senate

Thompson now has a five point lead in the primary. The tea party vote was divided which will allow Thompson to win with only 35 or 36% of the vote.

Thompson is a beloved figure, but is OLD and has been around forever. Baldwin will need to make this election about the future and that she represents just that. It will be interesting to see if Thompson can get the hard right enthusiasm, but he will probably (in the end) get their vote because of Ryan's presence on the ticket they will no doubt hold their noses and vote for Tommy, too. I rate this race 50-50 at this point.

Talk about Health Care Reform -- as DHHS Secretary, Tommy often spoke of it approvingly, including the mandate. Force Tommy to look old and addled by repudiating his previous commitment.

And tie the Ryan plan around his neck like a millstone. A vote for Tommy is one more vote in the Senate to repeal Medicare.
