Those results are from the pre and post debate ABC-WAPO polls and reflect an thirteen point bounce for Hillary Clinton.
P.S. As I have been saying, ad nauseum and ad infinitum , we are blessed to have such stellar candidates who continue to provide a stark contrast with their Republican opponents.

(5,066 posts)it probally is.the CNN debate was probally best chance for country to see Bernie and he is losing ground.
Thanks to DWS and others the remaining 3 debates will only be seen locally.
At least dems are proving there is no place for Liberals and Progressives In Democratic party anymore.
When us gets involved in syrian war and war starts In Iran.and social safety net is cut to pay for more wars and top 1% don't say

(30,481 posts)The contrast between every one of our candidates on stage and the republicans is a thing of beauty. I was sitting there with anticipation as they gave the floor to Chafee for his opening remarks. I was thinking "Dear Lord, Chafee is who is going to get this event going." He knocked it out of the park with his opening statement. It just got better from there.
I really dislike the influence CNN had on the debate. That being said, it was a one of the most solid Presidential debates I have ever seen. It was a big league event.
JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)Biden lost five. They went mostly if not all to Hillary.
Bernie Sanders gained one.
I predicted and I'm sure many agreed with me that Biden took his votes from Hillary, not from Sanders, and that when Biden was no longer included in the polls, Hillary's numbers would jump up.
I have even theorized that Biden was included in the polls so that at some point, the pollsters and press could show a jump in Clinton's numbers.
Voila. Here we are. That is precisely the trick that was being used.
For Bernie supporters: Bernie is right on track.
Hillary can identify all the economic and other problems in the US. With a staff as large as hers and as much money as she has, she should have analyzed just about everything that moves in the US by now.
But she is not offering concrete solutions.
It's all a thousand points of light for Hillary.
Mysteriously, employers and non-profits with the help of churches are going to solve many of our social ills according to Hillary.
That was George H.W. Bush's plan, and after implementation, he was summarily pushed out of office by, you guessed it, the irate American people.
Bernie is for real, and the American people will soon recognize just how for real he is.
Feel the Bern!

(28,749 posts)You realize Bernie is in the election right?
Robbins
(5,066 posts)Bernie is losing ground and Clinton is gaining.this proves no room for liberals or progressives if the most centrist one is winning.
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)I'd say he is doing pretty well?
It is an election, there will be competition.
Robbins
(5,066 posts)and who knows how much longer that will last.
The progressive lost ground in first debate and centrist won ground.and who knows how many will be able to watch the remaing 3 debates.
There is no good news In any polls for the progressive.
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)Hell I support Hillary but I certainly don't think this is over by any means.
Bernie is a good guy and a strong candidate, Hillary has her work cut out for her.
Robbins
(5,066 posts)and centrist candiate is gaing while the progressive candiate lost ground.
There Is no gurante ABC,CBS,and NBC will air the remaining debates anywhere except localy In Iowa,NH,and SC where they are
held.
So centrists are winning.
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)I'm not sure where you got that they would only show it locally? Also they will all stream it online...
It makes them money why wouldn't they do it?
It's worrisome that I have more confidence in your candidate than you do.
Robbins
(5,066 posts)so it's laregly over. The debate helped her and hurt bernie.
The democratic establishment led by DWS doesn't want too many watching.
The progressive candiate could use some good news.and there is none.
At least I know My liberal views have no place In democratic party anymore.
There is nothing yet on how many people will be able to see remaing debates.

(2,264 posts)I'd vote for Bernie too, but he has to win the nomination. Right? I think that's how it works.
tex-wyo-dem
(3,190 posts)And with DWS protecting her backside with "no more debates for you!", this could be a lock for the primary. She successfully (for now) rolled out that Trojan Progressive horse (or bunny, if your a Monty Python fan), and now just has to keep the hatch shut to prevent those pesky little men with top hats and fists full of $$$ from escaping and running amok blowing her cover as legit working for us little people.
More power to ye, HRC! 👍

(3,190 posts)If she does win the primary, she better hope we progressives stay energized, because no repub in hell will vote for her, and she's going to have a hard time pulling in most independents.
President Trump, anyone?
Robbins
(5,066 posts)If Clinton doesn't win they don't care who does.
Once primarys are done she will go back to being moderate and hope liberals and progressives will do as we always do and vote
for centrists thinking since we don't have anywhere else to go while she goes Bi-partisan and reaching to others to get along.

(3,190 posts)Oh cool!! 6 WHOLE debates!
My, my...I stand corrected, brooklynite! My apologies
On edit: that's ONLY 6 less than the number of repub debates 😎
brooklynite
(94,667 posts)Would you accept 8? 10?
Or is the question, how many is enough?
One of the arguments I heard was that Sanders needed the debates to "get his message out". Based on the results of the first one, how's that working out?
tex-wyo-dem
(3,190 posts)Most people are not political junkies who follow politics all the time, know policy, the candidates and where they stand on issues. Many people have not chosen who they are going to support. If they have, it's often pretty soft support and can be swayed based on new information, especially early in an election cycle.
Election year debates are a public service (or at least they used to be) that allows people to make an informed decision, and should be made as accessible to people as possible. The more debates there are, the better opportunity it is for regular people to access the information.
Debates are an opportunity for candidates to promote themselves...this, of course, means more to the lesser known candidates who often get ignored by the media. They are also great PR for the parties as a whole in promoting their candidates over the opposing party. Based upon the excellent performance by all the candidaes in the first debate, and the stark difference in intelligence and substance compared to the Repub debates, the DNC should be all for having as many debates as possible.
For the 2008 primaries, the DNC held 26 debates...26. This year, six?! Why? We've got excellent candidates who are miles above any of the clown car on the other side...why not promote that strength?
Fewer debates, without question, is an advantage for Clinton, not Sanders...and DWS is having fewer of them to give that advantage to Hil.

(5,324 posts)but I've always supported Hillary. Why?? Because my years of experiences say Bernie has no chance whatsoever of winning a general election. The GOP would make mincemeat out of him. unless a major miracle happens on the GOP side, Hillary is on track to become the next POTUS;
