2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe only plus I see for Romney in this Swiftboat attempt is this:
It attempts to stir up a food fight that doesn't involve Romney in any way.
Romney is a bad candidate, he makes a worse impression with increasing exposure.
He can't handle attacks on him or his record, he's been floundering and off balance.
The OBL killing doesn't involve him at all, there are no questions he has to answer, no tax records to hide, no Medicare or Ryan plan questions to dodge.
Of course there is the downside that pursuing this angle could lead to highlighting Obama's one accomplishment that even most right wingers have to concede is a good thing.

(5,420 posts)coz Obama did what they couldn't or wouldn't do. Now compare the killing of Osama done by the Obama team to the outing of Plame and the deaths it caused, by Cheney Scooter & Rove.
Now, do you really want to fight this battle repiglicans?

(13,621 posts)attacks compared to only 9 months Bush lasted. And Obama got the guy Bush couldn't!
Can you even imagine if something like 9/11 had happened on Obama's watch? Do you think we would have seen him be allowed to "pull the country together in this time of crisis" like Bush was? Everyone being all patriotic and supporting him? Not a freakin' chance!
It was maddening to me that after dropping the ball and allowing 9/11, Bush was allowed a clean slate and everything he did was "keeping us safe". There is not a chance the Republican's and media would give Obama that kind of treatment, even if it was a kind of attack that actually could not have been detected and stopped.

(2,774 posts)Just my take on it - didn't Romney also say he wouldn't have gone into Pakistan to get him?
Oh - it's going to be about Romney all right.
"Was getting OBL good or bad? it's as simple as that".
