(99,711 posts)A lot of the denizens of this board are working their way through Elisabeth Kubler Ross' "Five Stages Of Grief" and are only in the first stage which is "Anger and Denial" . This is manifested in them questioning the credibility of scientific polls and lashing out at other members of this board indiscriminately. We should be there to comfort them and help them work through all the stages, the final stage which is "Acceptance".

Yeah I my be grieving. And fucking pissed off that once again the opportunity to actually address some important problems in society are likely to get overwhelmed by money, show biz slickness and "rah, rah, rah" bullshit.
Election 2016 is shaping up to be another round of fiddling while Rome burns. Inane platitudes from the center right vs. awful bile from the right right.
We could so much better. Instead we're going to try and recapture the "Clinton Glory Years" and the Wall St. Big Bidness crowd will be fat and happy by squeezing the rest of us and throwing cocktail parties for their elected employees.

(99,711 posts)You should be happy in the gentlemanly way I respond to the calumnies on somebody I greatly admire as well as her supporters, famous and not so famous . On other boards where the rules aren't gamed I am not nearly as restrained.
And yes the Clinton years were glorious:
-3.9% unemployment
-4% GDP rate
-lowest poverty rate in a generation
-lowest rate of African American rate of unemployment in a generation
-lowest rate of Hispanic unemployment in a generation
-highest rate of African American home ownership in a generation
-lowest rate of abortion in a generation; folks were confident about the future, fucking a lot, and keeping the kids...
-relative peace, no enduring foreign engagements
That's Bill...
Hillary Clinton is uniquely qualified to be president by dint of experience, strength of character, and temperament.

(34,648 posts)Once Hillary is Madame President, I am sure she will calm their fears just like she has done for me. It will be a wonderful administration, and I hope to visit both her White house, and The Obama library when it is done. WHAT A TEAM!!! That are complementary administrations and she will fight the Republican party and protect women's rights!!

(99,711 posts)As Madame Secretary rises in the polls I expect the attacks on her and her supporters to become increasingly more untethered from reality as they grow exponentially.
As a Hillary Clinton supporter I am an exemplar to the world and it is incumbent upon me to rise above them.
On behalf of Katy Perry and Clinton supporters everywhere let me give you a

(1,716 posts)"Roar"
I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sit quietly, agree politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything
[Pre-Chorus:]
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Get ready 'cause I've had enough
I see it all, I see it now
[Chorus:]
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
'Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar
