Former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley had a speech motif that focused on action, not words.
Not all of us have a record of getting things done. I do, OMalley said, advertising his time as governor.
OMalley called for a raise in minimum wage, advancing the cause of paid family leave, making college more affordable and expanding Social Security. He also called for moving the United States toward a clean electric energy grid by 2050.
The former governor praised President Obamas record, but told the audience that the country elected a president, not a magician and reminded it that there was work to be done.

OP
I am glad O'Malley was received well. He needs his moment, maybe it's coming.

I can be there. He was just a few miles from me a couple months ago to inspect an ethanol plant. But it wasn't open to the public.

I thought O'Malley gave a great speech. I didn't know he could be that "fired up" because we haven't seen that much of him, except in the debate. He had great delivery, inflection and enthusiasm.

In the debate he seemed plastic, but last night he was awesome. I really like him.
