Petition to Overturn Citizens United: Sponsored by Al Franken & Sherrod Brown

Just something I stumbled upon out there on the 'tubes..

Figured DU would be interested!

"As Americans who believe in democracy, reject the corruptive influence of special interests, and are capable of telling the difference between a person and a corporation, we support putting the Citizens United decision in the Dumpster of Bad Ideas where it belongs by means of a constitutional amendment — and returning elective power to the actual, human citizens of the United States of America."

remember, a constitutional amendment is not a baby step. The amendment should solve the problem of money influencing our elections, regardless if it's from a corporation or a single wealthy donor.

I'd also like to see it deal with the voter suppression problem.

Michael Moore was advocating for a very inclusive example some months ago.

TY for the link. I even added a zinger for the "personhood corporations" that are noting my FB page to gleam politics from it.

There are a lot of different amendments floating around out there.

I'm not sure which one to support.

Many of the amendments I've seen proposed as response to Citizens United would not have changed the result.
