Romney Defends Birther Line: ‘The Crowd Loved It’

The Republican nominee told CBS Friday, after the campaign appearance where he made the remark, he saw nothing wrong with the comment, in part because it drew cheers from the crowd.

“Well we’re in Michigan and Ann I and I were both born in Detroit and of course a little humor always goes a long way” he said. “So it was great to be home, to be in a place where Ann and I had grown up, and the crowd loved it and got a good laugh.”

I hear crowds in 1960s Alabama loved George Wallace, too.

I mean, if we really knew he was kidding, it might go over...

On second thought, maybe not. Conservatives are always at a loss to find humor in anything but meanness.

so Mitt played to the crowd --- again. This summarizes his campaign: always playing to the crowd even if it contradicts something he said at another time. Despite his great wealth (and we don't know exactly what that is) he is still a cheap, lying, conniving, bastard. Always has been, always will be.
