When your guy's in office ...

Low gas prices? Praise the president.

Low unemployment? Praise the president.

Increasing wages? Praise the president.

Low inflation? Praise the president.

Country on "right path"? Praise the president.

But ...

High gas prices? Blame somebody: speculators, Arabs, Chavez/Iran, oil companies, storms.

High unemployment? Blame predecessor, blame corporations, blame the rich, blame the foreigners, blame the media for talking down the economy.

Flat or decreasing wages? Blame employers, blame productivity gains, blame foreign immigrants.

High inflation? Blame gougers, blame foreign governments' trade/tariff policies, blame the upper- and upper-middle-classes for unsustainable consumption.

Country on "wrong path"? Blame Congress, blame the media.

Sign affidavits to this effect and have copious testimony that this is the Absolute Truth.
