2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOn what aisle are car elevators, Mitt?
I love Costco. I shop at Costco a lot for many daily things. Indeed, it's easy to imagine that my quality of life would be lower if it were not for Costco.
Much of the time, the middle of the Costco floor is taken up by items that I can't use. I have no need for expansive outdoor furniture and decorations as I live in a townhouse. I also don't need huge couches. There's no backyard for a really cool swing set or playhouse.
As much as Costco has ordinary things that help me stretch my budget, it always carries luxury items I can't contemplate purchasing. Maybe if I had dozens of bedroom to fill, it would be a great deal.
Now, I wouldn't consider myself salt of the earth. I can see the middle of the middle class from where I stand. However, shopping at Costco doesn't make me an ordinary person. it doesn't put me in touch with the struggles of many Americans. And it doesn't put me on Mitt Romney's level.
And Mitt, it doesn't make you ordinary either.
