GOP "Sob-Sob"...The harsher their policies, the more they try to look like emptional softies
Watching the "messaging" coming out of the GOP in recent days, I noticed something.
Although the GOP usually tries to portray themselves as the party of hard, manly men (and hard women) in contrast to the weenie liberal metrosexual Democrats, a strange transformation seems to occur every four years in the presidential race.
yusually, Mitt Romney portrays himself as the no-nonsense, unemotional manager, the hardnose defense hawk, the tough guy...the manly man.
But they are currently trying to paint Mitt Romney as a "softie" in his personal life. "Look, he cries at the drop of a hat. He is like a high-school kid in his marriage. He lets his wife run his life. He makes pancakes in the kitchen. He's goofy at home. He loves his shirts from Costco."
It is not only Mitt. Look at how they made GW Bush look like a goofy emotional softie during his campaigns.
It makes for a strange dichotomy between their slash-and-burn politics and policies and public behavior -- while overcompensating with this overdone soft emotionalism.
The contrast between this supposed "humanity" seems to be in direct proportion to how socially destructive their policies and performance are in office.
"It's election time. Turn on the tears."
