(62,325 posts)The undefeated UFC Womens Bantamweight Champion said in an interview with Maxim that she is voting for Sanders because he doesnt take any corporate money.
I dont think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests, Rousey said.

(15,859 posts)Thats amazing! You couldnt pay me enough to get in the ring with Ronda. And I guarantee you I'd be crying.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)She has upped her game with boxing in conjunction with the judoka that she is.
I learned that I watched an earlier match with the one she nearly beat to death. (my bad)
I anticipate the match. She is a very technical and versatile athlete. She takes judo and flavors it with her own natural abilities, much like Bruce Lee did with Wing Chun.
I would actually like to see her compete against male MMA fighters in her weight class.
bunnies
(15,859 posts)I think they should let her. She'd crush 'em.

All I can tell you is the satisfaction of throwing a 6'5" Marine over your shoulder in intense martial arts training is worth the blood sweat and tears.

"I voted for Roseanne last time," Rousey said.
Well, that pretty much tells me all I need to know.

(32,342 posts)Ronda Rousey tweets video suggesting Sandy Hook was gov't conspiracy
"UFC Women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has an affinity for attracting media attention nearly equivalent to her skill with armbars.
Mae West, or maybe it was P.T. Barnum, Will Rogers, or W.C. Fields, famously said "I dont care what the newspapers say about me as long as they spell my name right."
That nostrum may be put to the test after "Rowdy" posted a video on her twitter account that suggests that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a government conspiracy."

(30,481 posts)I'm not saying I would reject her endorsement or anything like that. Not in any way. But speak well to her character I wouldn't.
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)her father's suicide, being homeless and I believe was hooked on drugs. She is a true champion and is the only MMA fighter I follow because she is the best in the sport, woman or man. Never heard she was Sandy Hook truther though. If she thought that a transgender person might have an advantage over other women in MMA I'm not sure if that is right or wrong since it could cause an advantage in some cases. She is winner and I'm sure many women and men agree.

(62,276 posts)Like the Olympic committee has decided it will handle trans athletes.
The trutherism shit was deleted quickly and I think she might've been high when she posted that.

(39,961 posts)that she fought last night, probably lasted as long as anybody I have ever seen in a fight with her. She made it to 3 rounds. Rousey literally beat the stew out of her - I have no idea how she managed to make it past round 2 because Rousey was on her like white on rice.

(23,156 posts)And why should I care who she endorses?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bernie Sanders supporter, but when some totally obscure person "endorses" him, it's just not very important.
HerbChestnut
(3,649 posts)She's not obscure, she's just not in politics. Actually she's quite popular with anyone who pays attention to sports.
SheilaT
(23,156 posts)Least of all the sport she seems to be in.
I'm going to have to do a lot more name dropping of the science fiction writers I'm close to, and then act all surprised when people here say they've never heard of them. But they're HUGE names in the s-f community!
HerbChestnut
(3,649 posts)That said, if Neal Stephenson endorsed Bernie, I'd be over the moon.
Codeine
(25,586 posts)it would be a nine hundred page endorsement with an unnecessary 300 page tangent halfway through. Then the whole thing would fall completely apart at the end, but would somehow still end up being absolutely amazing.

(23,156 posts)I'm being reminded of when I was a ticket agent at National Airport in Washington DC, back in the 1970's. I never recognized the Washington Redskins who came to the counter, but I knew all of the Washington Post columnists.
