The previous year, in Chicago as part of Congress on Racial Equality (CORE) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) , he was arrested for protesting segregation in public schools in Chicago. There are photos from that time, if you have a sincere interest in such activist history.
Now, tell us when you got arrested standing up for others. No photos needed, just share you truth!

(6,960 posts)It dawned on me this morning why the Hillary partisans are so angry all the time.
Here you are a lifelong committed feminist and advocate for women's rights and equality and you have to support the most conservative candidate in the Democratic nomination contest because of gender.
Cognitive dissonance ... it would make anyone grumpy.

Do you have a link whether or not they've discovered if the guy pictured is Bruce or Bernie? The link I've provided is for an article dated November 12, 2015, so they could've concluded their investigation in the meantime.

(57,349 posts)Associating Bernie with a white supremacist hate group, implying he lied about marching with MLK, is there nothing she won't do to smear him?
Surely there must be better ways to promote Hillary.

(7,661 posts)but are you sure that is Bernie? That man looks pretty old there. Here's a pic of Bernie and his son from 1971 below. I don't question Bernie's support for the Civil Rights movement or protesting Vietnam, I just don't want people using this photo to slander Bernie or his supporters if it is not him.

Off the top of my head I believe Sidney Poitier, Tony Curtis, Burt Lancaster, Charlton Heston, and Harry Belafonte were at the March.

(8,352 posts)No one, literally, no one has serious doubts or skepticism about the fact that Sanders participated in the historic March on Washington in 1963. John Lewis never questioned it. No one. News sites and Wikipedia all agree that he did.
Sorry there was not the iPhone then for capturing selfies of him in the back of the crowd of tens of thousands so we can give you photographic proof.
This thread is nothing about Sanders but rather an attempt to deflect from Hillary Clintons abhorrent lies about Bosnia sniper fire and being turned down for the Marines in 1975, the same year she fucking married Bill.
Grow the fuck up!

(8,352 posts)Why don't you write John Lewis, Barbara Lee, and Jesse Jackson. Tell them you don't believe Sanders was a part of the March on Washington. Ask their opinion on photo proof needed and the like.
Given that they have been colleagues and strong supporters of each other, I trust their opinion on this non-issue a hell of lot more than I do yours.
