Related: About this forumO'Malley's attacking everybody.
http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/omalley-unloads-clintons-911-commentsAnd it wasnt just Clinton whom OMalley targeted. I dont believe we need to scrap capitalism and replace it with socialism, as Sen. Sanders thinks, he said of Sanders.
I highlighted the attack on Sanders because I find it disingenuous. This comes straight out of the Republican playbook almost word for word. O'Malley seems like a great candidate, and he is a strong #2 for me, but this kind of talk really makes it difficult to support him in any way.

(44,182 posts)I found him pretty annoying last night. Too many negative attacks, and he came across as a braggart. Yes he accomplished much as Governor, but the way he presents it is very off-putting.

(14,449 posts)He at most has 5 percent support. He needs attention and feels this is the only way. Probably won't make a difference but he's trying anything to make stick.

(12,958 posts)Republicanesque IMHO. Everybody knows that Democratic Socialism calls for a mixed economy. Heavily regulated capitalism with a heavy emphasis on the commons.

(8,168 posts)I'm sure he's getting close to do or die, figures there's not a lot to lose.
I just wish he would do it in a truthful way. There's plenty of topics he can contrast himself with against the other candidates in a manner that doesn't depend on misleading people.

(11,785 posts)Personally, I think there's a note of meanness in some of his attacks that will do him more harm than good, but it's his choice.

(31,879 posts)And Sanders had it coming after the Baltimore crack. Tit for tat - its an election. It's not pretty. He's the underdog - he gets to throw elbows when he sees fit.

(86,005 posts)...you're going to need to grow thicker skin if these little criticisms upset you.
Btw, O'Malley has ZERO to do with Wall St,, but Sanders insisted on yelling at him, along with Clinton, about Wall St. ties. If he's going to scream that nonsense at O'Malley, he'd better be prepared for a fight. And, yes, he did holler like he was having a seizure or something. His supporters need to stop acting as if he's above criticism. People are going to disagree with some of his policies. That's a given. O'Malley's not Sanders' wingman. He's running to best him in this race. He has a better record of progressive accomplishments and he's not going to be shy about pointing that out.
And it's still child's play compared to how nasty 2008 got.
This is a race for leader of the free world. If you can't handle being called out on your weaknesses, just step aside.

(22,871 posts)It's a campaign tactic and gets him media attention.

(99,711 posts)I am not going to attack him or any candidate that attempts to draw distinctions with his or her opponent.

(81,871 posts)It's a legend to age statement and nothing compared to what the republicans would say.

(72,790 posts)Sometimes folks need to be called out. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

(45,525 posts)Wait until the Republicans start attacking your candidate, then you'll miss the disagreements that O'Malley and HRC brought up.

(30,481 posts)Insinuation everyone not jumping for joy over Sanders has some sort of republican attachment. It was stupid to start now it's just showing how little they truly have.

(45,251 posts)Sanders or helping Sanders attack Hillary. Then, he can attack No. 1. Attacking both of them at the same time seems counter-productive.
