Jim Obergefell says he's ready for Hillary.
The lead plaintiff in this year's landmark U.S. Supreme Court case that legalized gay marriage nationwide announced Monday that he'll endorse Hillary Clinton's bid for president because of her commitment to fighting discrimination against the lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender (LBGT) community.
"We have fought to not only change laws, but to change hearts, and now we need a President who will help us fight to eliminate the injustices that occur regularly in our community, and the best person to do that is Hillary Clinton," Cincinnati's Obergefell said in a press release from Clinton's campaign. "Hillary is a proven leader who will not only ensure that states are implementing marriage equality, but will work to end discrimination in our community whether it's by passing the Equality Act or through state measures."
Clinton said in the release that Obergefell "made history and changed America for the better" by taking his case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
