http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/33686-hillary-clinton-goes-bush-leagueHillary Clinton Goes Bush League
A number of commentators have compared Secretary Clinton's 9/11 debate comment to the 2008 campaign tactics of Rudy Giuliani, who 9/11 couldn't go 9/11 to the men's room 9/11 without 9/11 invoking 9/11 9/11 like a verbal hiccup 9/11. That tactic worked about as well as the wax wings Icarus used when he flew too close to the sun. It was grotesque then, and is grotesque now, but doing so on the doorstep of a massacre puts Clinton into a whole other category.
In baseball, when a player pulls some punk move - headhunting with a fastball, cleat-spiking during a slide, failing to run out a pop fly - the game has a universal retort: "That's bush league." Bush league is precisely where candidate Clinton has parked herself ... and that's "Bush" with a capital "B."
Very little more needs to be said about Ms Clinton's tactics. She always reverts to type.

(13,070 posts)She was discussing why Wall Street would like her, if not for $$. She reminded them that they like her because of the work she did as a Senator. She was there rebuilding after 911. She was their Senator.
To not see the difference between Giuliani's use of it and Clinton's is either disingenuous or ignorant. Just because someone says "911" does not mean they are invoking it. It must be looked at in context. Nuance is lost on people who are either looking for a way to twist for the best attack, or are too stupid to understand it. I gave the article's author the benefit of the doubt.

(17,341 posts)You know, not only do I have hundreds of thousands of donors, most of them small, I am very proud that for the first time a majority of my donors are women, 60 percent. So I - I represented New York. And I represented New York on 9/11 when we were attacked. Where were we attacked? We were attacked in downtown Manhattan where Wall Street is. I did spend a whole lot of time and effort helping them rebuild. That was good for New York. It was good for the economy. And it was a way to rebuke the terrorists who had attacked our country.
Evergreen Emerald
(13,070 posts)Like I said, if you are looking for a way to attack her, you can twist anything she says into a negative. I just thought democrats were smarter and more....honest than this.

Don't worry, if HRC ever becomes POTUS, Pitt will have plenty of opportunity to take things out of context and blow them out of proportion. I'm sure it will be entertaining -- just not necessarily accurate.

(62,325 posts)she not only invoked 9/11, she led people to believe that it was because how she helped them at that time, that they were giving her money now.
That isn't true.
Iow, she attempted to deceive those who were watching the debate because she KNOWS that a top issue for voters in this campaign IS The Money from Wall St flowing into our political system. And is the recipient of untold amounts of that money.
She did indeed invoke 9/11 to try to lead people to believe she has already paid Wall St anything they might think she owed them.
Except that is not true.

(55,981 posts)Their Senator." She said it herself that she was Wall Street's Senator. That's the problem. We need a president that isn't the president for Wall Street.
Democrats believe that big money in politics has decimated the 99%. Why would anyone back "Big Money"?

25 years of providing the GOP with talking negative points. Doesn't matter that some of these are pure crap (Benghazi for example which I didn't even list) because she put herself in these situations through her own actions. Even when presented with her own words invoking 9/11 as an excuse to take millions from Wall ST, you refuse to see it. That's fine, it's your choice as it's mine not to trust one word that comes out of her mouth.

(10,479 posts)Hillary Clinton is pathetic. But I realize that hatred has formed itself on many DU writers. We have become "he said- she said" in a smug manner patting ourselves on our backs. Been here since 2002 still hoping we will grow up.
Your math is off. Sniper fire was a lie, period and during her last "crowning", as was her fake accent. Libya and Honduras during her SoS tenure, not 25 years ago. 12 bucks an hour is last week. I hate broccoli and her lies, obfuscation and Wall Street coziness. The GOP hate her will not vote for her as well as many independents and young voters who identify with traditional Democratic values like single payer, 15/hr and breaking up big banks.

Does Will criticizing Hillary for her "act of verbal violence beyond moral repair" mean he "hates" her?
The only thing lacking in his response was pointing out Clinton's "act of verbal violence beyond moral repair" was a deception because:
Wall Street loved Hillary Clinton before 9/11, too
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/11/16/wall-street-loved-hillary-clinton-before-911-too/

He still has many fans here, but has also lost his charm for quite a few others. He decided to take an extended break, and yes, it was of his own free will. He'll always have his column at Daily Kos or whatever that he's had for a decade and a half.
