Many of our fellow Americans react to that label in the same ways that the villagers did in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail witch scene. That is to say, in ignorance and fear.

I commend Bernie for confronting those reactions and embracing the term rather than trying to run away from it. The Attwater/Rove tactic of Smear is already in play. He needs our help if he is to succeed. One closed mind at a time.
