Thanks!

(26,549 posts)And since he's trying to make money via data analysis, the details of his model are not available, as far as I can tell.

(26,549 posts)You can tell because of all the references to "the model" and the lack of references to polls, or questions.
The author's name is "Joe". Have a look at the about page.

(4,558 posts)and the only one with an actual history of accomplishments has such a nice lead.
May HRC keep that lead and keep on the legacy of progress that our current magnificent president has started rolling with.

(3,146 posts)It's sad when people use Howard Dean as a model of an overhyped campaign. He's the reason that I, and I'm sure many others here, even got interested in politics. The war hawks in the party establishment made sure to sink him and helped to expose the lack of organization in his campaign and that's why we got stuck with Kerry. In an election in which a sock puppet should have beaten the incumbent, Kerry lost because the establishment knew better than the grass roots. Say what you want about Ron Paul, but as a good liberal, show some dignity and respect and please don't use Howard Dean as an example of a failed campaign. This party owes him a huge debt of gratitude for invigorating a new generation of voters that may have otherwise sat on the sidelines. To use his picture in a mocking way is just shameful.

(3,146 posts)...in front of large crowds as some sort of cautionary tale is just flat out disrespectful to all of us here. If it weren't for Howard Dean, I may never have found the "Democratic Underground" website in December of 2003. I was here when they used to do a weekly list of "Top 10 Conservative Idiots". Howard Dean is a great democrat. Am I disappointed that he got behind Hillary Clinton? Of course, but I am still thankful that he ran in 2003-04 and especially thankful for what he did for the party from 2005-09 as chair.

My god, and here I thought DUers come here to actually LEARN facts, not make them up and stick with them.

(94,594 posts)...I was on the ground in NH the weekend before the Primary, and I saw a poorly managed campaign that didn't know what it was doing. Not that it mattered, because Deans had already screwed up Iowa, coming a mediocre third.
Ned_Devine
(3,146 posts)I don't know if you're doing it on purpose because you can't take back the fact that you posted his picture like it's something to be embarrassed of, or if you really don't get my point. Howard Dean is the reason that so many of here got interested in politics to begin with. Feel free to use anyone else's picture as an example, but out of respect, you ought not use his.
brooklynite
(94,594 posts)Unfortunately, he didn't inspire people to actually vote for him. I'm just pointing out to the person upthread that rally turnout doesn't translate to electoral success.
Ned_Devine
(3,146 posts)...did you have to use his picture? See what I mean?

(3,146 posts)It's all cynical snark any way, so I don't know why I bother engaging in this debate. I mean, by posting those pictures, you're insinuating that the people that showed up in droves for those rallies, including Ron Paul's, were foolish and destined for failure. We could easily just come back and compare it to the huge crowds that showed up at Barack Obama's rallies, or huge crowds that came to see Jimmy Carter when he took the political landscape by storm in 1976, but we don't.
brooklynite
(94,594 posts)...I guarantee that someone would have complained that I was equating Sanders with Paul.
I've worked in politics since I turned 18 in 1977. I've supported a lot of candidates, many of whom lost. I've learned not to be afraid to acknowledge a candidate's weakness.
Ned_Devine
(3,146 posts)I'm a big fan of Bernie obviously and still a big Howard Dean fan. it must be a NY/VT thing or something
So, of course I believe those crowds are more than just a flash in the pan and represent a strong campaign that has a lot of people enthusiastic to vote. I think that if their organization is as strong as I think it is, pictures from the time that Bernie ran for president in 2015-16 won't be used as a cautionary tale, but as an example of what a great grass roots effort looks like.
I also think that all of those people that came to the rallies for Dean and Ron Paul should be proud of what they did to get involved in the process.

(15,438 posts)I'm very happy she's doing and continues to do so well in the polls.

(7,393 posts)But Bernie is doomed after that since he has gotten and will get zero traction with minorities. For good reason, IMO.
