2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMorning Plum: Shock poll finds Hillary Clinton more trusted on terrorism than her GOP rivals
Will the terror attacks in France make it more likely that the 2016 election will be about foreign policy and national security, thus giving an automatic edge to the GOP?
Some Republicans appear to think thats the case. Marco Rubios first television ad proclaims: What happened in Paris could happen here. And Donald Trump is road-testing a new terrorism-related attack line on Hillary Clinton, claiming that Clinton lacks the stamina to be president and deal with the terrorists, who only understand strength.
Well, the new Washington Post/ABC News poll would seem to undercut this pleasing little story-line. It finds that Americans trust Clinton more than all her GOP rivals to handle the terrorism issue:

Here's a cute cotton-candy puppy picture that made me smile.

Considering the outcome of that "feet on the ground reality-based policy".. I'll take the cotton candy.....

You're better than this...
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)... that's pretty much all it deserves. Any "secret" meaning is a product of your own mind. I'm not in a position to comment on things you imagine. You're barking up the wrong tree. There's no squirrel up there. The barking only adds to my amusement.

(5,954 posts)I'm sorry to admit that I regularly watch Fox's Special Report (mainly to give me a chance to throw things at the TV with impunity). And when that poll came out they didn't mention anything about Hilary Clinton. Instead, they just took the numbers for the Republican candidates, and did a five minute piece on how Marco Rubio has now 'surged into first place' as the most trusted Republican candidate on anti-terrorism policy. They didn't mention Hilary Clinton once. That gave me a laugh.

(449 posts)Hillary Clinton has years of experience with foreign policy as Secretary of State. I don't see how this poll could be considered shocking when she's being put up against a bunch of local candidates, most of whom have no experience in national politics and several of whom have no experience in politics at all.
