Most think they are in the same economic class as big corporations. They don't realize how nickeled and dimed they are by our different levels of government and the banks that give special privileges to the large companies that the main street mom and pop stores don't get. All they see is the taxes they have to pay and they blame the government for it. The right wingers play into that even though they have no intention in hell of ever giving them any special privilege.

I have a fox"news" listening, rightwing conservative, fundamentalist christian, small business-owning family friend.

At just about all of our family gatherings, I attempt to make that exact point. The end result has always been a string of disconnected fox"news" talking points.

They hate the poor and the government for holding them down. I think the real fight is getting the rest of us to the polls on election day.

to ship even more jobs to foreign countries.

Small business owners need customers. It is in their best interest to have customers who can buy their goods and services.

Rmoney and others like him got rich from shipping jobs to foreign countries. Here's the ones that have signed so far, and the ones that he and Bain Capital have taken advantage of:

1994 - NAFTA

2001 - Jordan – United States Free Trade Agreement
2004 - Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement
2004 - Chile - United States Free Trade Agreement
2004 - Singapore – United States Free Trade Agreement
2005 - Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA; incl. Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic)
2006 - Bahrain – United States Free Trade Agreement
2006 - Morocco - United States Free Trade Agreement
2006 - Oman – United States Free Trade Agreement
2007 - Peru – United States Trade Promotion Agreement

2011 - Panama - United States Trade Promotion Agreement
2011 - Colombia - United States Trade Promotion Agreement
2011 - Republic of Korea (South Korea) - United States Free Trade Agreement

If there is a better way to destroy the American middle-class and small businesses than shipping jobs to foreign countries, what is it?

... to change the channel on anything that's got FOX on it. If they don't, politely inform them that you won't be returning (and specify why) and then don't return. We used to frequent a Mexican restaurant. Four years ago, we were playing darts there and there were a panel of TVs along the wall next to us. The owner and someone else were at the bar (where the same things were on) and sent a young waitress over to tell us we had to stop playing darts because we were blocking their view. I had on an Obama hat and she had on an Obama T-shirt. We asked for the tab, left half-full glasses of beer and the rest of our meal on the table and left. I still gave her a good tip - wasn't her fault the owner's an asshole. On a plus side, they're fighting to keep their liquor license right now.
