Haley Barbour would like to see a hot poker on Obama's butt

More respectful language towards the President from the Republicans:

9/4/12 12:12 PM EDT

Republican heavyweight Haley Barbour wanted Chris Christie to take a tougher line on President Barack Obama in his speech at the GOP convention, telling a closed-door meeting of top donors he wished the New Jersey governor had “put a hot poker to Obama’s butt.”

“While I would love for [Chris] Christie to put a hot poker to Obama’s butt,” Barbour told backers of American Crossroads last week in Tampa, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. “I thought he did what he was supposed to do.”

That's called branding ... something done by humans to their livestock and (once upon a time) their slaves.

That's going to be the question that the political panels discuss when this statement is discussed.

Was this just ordinary disrespectful, ignorant language towards the President from the GOP? Or did it have darker racial undertones?

I've never lived in Mississippi under Barbour so I don't know enough about his history to know if he's done stuff like this before.

Does he have a history of this?

Does saying:

He doesn't remember jim crow being that bad ... or,

that the white citizen's council was a good thing because it served the invaluable role in keeping mississippi free from the racial strife of the civil rights movement, count?

Obama is pretty limber and not exactly overweight. Not the easiest moving target to hit.

Christie, on the other hand...........

To be exact, the hot poker wasn't actually applied TO the butt. It was, well, let's just say that the assasins didn't want to leave any marks.

I'm sure Barbour didn't mean anything like that..................

Didn't Mitt call for more civility in the campaign a couple of weeks ago? Oh well, I guess that idea was fleeting..........
