Wouldn't resolve in the face of a threat be the hallmark of an emotionally healthy person ?

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor FDR sprang into action. When the Germans attacked Russia it was reported Stalin was so shook he went on a three day drunk.

I forgot what the issue was but Al Gore said "we have to pick up the ball where we found it" or in other words "we are where we are"...If the left looks feckless in the face of this threat the right will certainly convince a plurality or majority of Americans they are best equipped to deal with the threat and their solutions are frightening.
