So far. So good.

I spend most of my free time hanging with my white trash berniebot bros in the trailer drinking lattes. We have a hard time making it outside though to hug trees because we are dumb as a brick and twice as thick and can't figure out how to function in the real world so we just sit around insulting women...or at least that is what we are told we do as Bernie supporters...over and over and over and over again.

Even though these insults are never at me directly, these things have been said about Bernie supporters as a generalization and about Bernie, by another candidate's supporters, both here and on their private site, as a general broad brush.
I have spent my whole life, in my own ways, advocating for women's rights and the rights of people of color, to be told here, indirectly, by just being a Bernie supporter, that I am at worst a misogynist or at best a tone death jerk that doesn't understand the issues that women face is insulting. You don't know anything about me and I am not willing to expose that much about my real life. Even if it is not directed at me, it is directed at the candidate I support. A man, that while he has been imperfect, has worked very hard for the rights of women.

That I don't get why people of color are angry and sick and tired of the same bullshit platitudes and no action from old white politicians. Even if it is not directed at me, it is directed at the candidate I support. A man, that while he has been imperfect, has worked very hard for the rights of people of color.

While I don't doubt there has been some people who claim to support Bernie that have said things they should not. I, personally, have seen very little. Maybe I live in a sheltered life. Maybe I don't.
I have seen a great deal of complaining and broadside attacks with vile accusations from another candidate's supporters though. Over and over again.

I have been on DU for 9 years and never had a hide and I don't plan to start. I'll stew on it a little more but I am inclined to take a break and decide if it is worth coming back our not.

2. How has he "worked very hard for people of color"?

Has he ever went overseas to excoriate foreign govts for human rights abuses? Has he ever run a global charity to help fight AIDS in Africa? Did he march with Sharpton and call cops who killed Amadou Diallo "murderers"? Has he done anything other than travel back and forth from Vermont to DC to cast some votes?

5. When we talk about PoC Janey

we actually mean those here in America.

While fighting against AIDS in Africa is noble, it doesn't do shit for American PoC. But you know what does harm them? Clinton era welfare reform, three strikes laws, for profit prisons, and increasing the war on drugs.

http://nypost.com/2000/02/03/men-in-blue-say-hillarys-poisoned-the-well/

Clinton referred to the killing of the unarmed Diallo — who was gunned down in a fusillade of 41 police bullets — as a “tragic murder.”

D’Angelo said she believed Clinton made the remark to “further her own political agenda.”

The group sent Clinton’s Senate campaign office a letter which read, in part: “With this one statement … you have prejudged the officers, and poisoned the jury pool.”

Edward Dwyer, whose son Anthony, an NYPD cop, was killed in the line of duty in 1989, said the accused officers would “trade places with Amadou, if it was within their power.”

“She [Clinton] was just using this as a steppingstone.”

Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said the first lady “misspoke” at the Harlem event.

Yeah, misspeaking is wonderful support for PoC.

Want to try again?

Against gun control. 2 things that have harmed the AA community more than anything in the past 30 years.

The Crime Bill distortion has already been debunked. It was an omnibus bill and while aspect sucked others such as the Violence Against Women Act needed to pass. You would be screaming your head off if he voted against that.

He has consistently voted for gun control measures that are moderate.

Most gun deaths are suicides. Pretending that it is a 'gang' thing is bordering awfully close to racism there JaneyVee. Watch yourself please.

3. Hillary supporters make a small minority here, but, I agree, they do make a lot of unpleasant

noise. Don't worry, they will become quieter in a few months. Someone has written that
some Hillary supporters are not helping Hillary to gain, but to lose supporters. I kind of agree
with that statement. I sometimes wonder if they are really Hillary supporters, or disguised
Republicans, whose main purpose is to create trouble here. Some of them do sound like
Republicans. Don't let them bother you too much -- just ignore them.

today. Some people just like to spew insults and false accusations. I really hate the idea of placing anyone on "ignore", but for now, it seems to be the best option.
