I support Clinton. I respect Sanders. And his supporters.

If you follow this forum closely, you know I am one of the more active Clinton supporters here. I post about polls, statistics, probabilities and try to avoid the more drama filled posts.

But I will freely admit that there are posts in GDP that are ridiculously over the top, and I will wade into those to say something about it. And there are times where GDP does, for lack of a better phrase, go toxic for a day or two. Of course, I am sure there are Bernie supporters that think the same thing in the opposite direction.

But, here is the thing, I don't have a problem with Bernie; he is just not my choice for our candidate. He is smart, he cares for people, he is engaging in his own way, and he has put together a much better run than, I think, pretty much anyone anticipated.

And, while I may clash with a number of them here, I don't have a problem with his GDP supporters, either. GDP is a special place designed for us to duke it out over our various candidates and we do. Sometimes really vehemently.

But I see a number of Sanders supporters from GDP in GD and LBN too, and, frankly, a lot of the drama here seems to disappear over there. I posted a personal story in GD awhile back about something I went through with my young son, and a huge number of recs there were from "enemies" here, as well as, a number of very nice comments. And that is true of many, many other posts, as well.

And, if Sanders manages to put together a coalition of never counted voters and pulls off a shocking upset, well, I would lick my wounds and then get to work to try and defeat the Republicans.

GDP is a world unto itself, and I treat it as such. Things said here don't really move my opinion on any of the Democratic candidates, including my own. At the end of the day, I know I have a lot more in common with Sanders supporters than I do with anyone trying to get the clown car nomination. A primary fight here in GDP sure as hell is not going to change that fact.

So, I will tangle and throwdown in threads here, but I will never forget we're all a part of the much larger DU community that captures so many of our ideals.

Support Sanders but respect Clinton very much and will happily vote for her if she is the nominee. We have to come together on this, folks.

If Bernie is the nominee I will fucking phone bank for him in order to keep Republicans far away from the White House. Until then: Go Hillary!

I also support Clinton, but respect Sanders Some, but by no means the majority, of his supporters are a different story. More specifically, I support Bernie on the issues, but have a real problem with his style and methods - particularly his nearly 30 year history of bashing the Democratic Party just until it the point that not doing so suited his personal interest.

On the flip side, some of Hillary's stances on the issues concern me, but I do see her as a liberal at heart and am putting my faith in people like us to hold her feet to the fire. I also see her as a far more formidable politician as far as taking on the other side. And finally, I simply admire her story and what she represents.

All that being said, if Bernie is the nominee you can be sure that I will not only vote for him, but also work my tail of to see that others do the same!

I am a Bernie supporter, but I like Hillary and respect her supporters as well. She certainly has my vote if she wins the nomination.

I haven't decided who I'm going to vote for in the primaries. I'm reserving the right to make up my mind the day before I vote in them. I want to learn as much as possible and also want to see how they are in the rest of the debates and on the campaign trail. My State's primary is late, and I'm interested in how things play out any way, prior to it. I can understand the points of view of all three candidates.

I can understand the points of view of many of their supporters. I don't like a lot of the histrionics - it's not necessary. I will support the democratic nominee for President. We need a broad coalition to win. In the meantime, I don't mind drama. It's a natural part of the give and take of politics. I just don't like being in the middle of it. I come here to read & learn & relax. And I must admit, some of the more dramatic stuff does pique my interest and often makes me laugh. That's part of human nature too I guess.
