2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary's NO-dimensional campaign is hurting her badly
We, the electorate,
are jaded and cynical
about politicians' honesty.
We know from experience that
campaign *promises* ring hollow,
and absent any legislative record
a politician will say whatever they
think is necessary to sway an
audience to their favor.
Hillary IS exactly the type of
politician who will say anything,
who will change her *message*
depending upon whom she is
speaking to.
As such, she has NO DIMENSIONS.
She stands for NOTHING she pretends
to value or represent.
Hillary has consistently triangulated,
used weasel words, and withheld
making commitments until it is
politically expedient, or any danger
of taking a principled stand has passed...
(TPP for instance).
We, the electorate, see through her facade.
We ARE tired and repulsed by the establishment
game of *better than a republican* or
*who else you going to vote for*, or
*SCOTUS!!1!1!*
Hillary is a NO DIMENSIONAL candidate.
She IS, works for, and represents the 1%.
We Can Do Better.

(10,345 posts)If you're supportive of a candidate who clearly uses careful wording to avoid answering questions and has shifted themselves in the name of expedience, perhaps you should either...
1. Reconsider and truly digest how Hillary compares to the many politicians before her who have used the same tricks and tactics.
or
2. Accept that you're supporting a typical politician, the type that has been yanking our chains for decades.
When I see posts like yours, it only rings in my ear as "I cannot defend Hillary so I will instead mock the message"
You don't come off as clever, you come off as ill-equipped.

Life would be much more pleasant if the Democratic Party did not insist (as an entity) on serving up candidates who are so contradictory to the basic liberal/progressive beliefs, values and goals of many of us.
In the 90's, I would have loved to have been able to kick back and succumbed to Bill Clinton's charm and eloquence, and pseudo liberal eloquence.
It would have been sop nice to unabashedly been able to support him....The problem was her kept doing this shit that was conservative and oriented to screwing average people to benefit Big Business and Big Banks.

there are, actually people open to reason. I would actually LOVE to hear someone actually explain these things about Hillary. It would ease my tension in voting for her if I ever have to.
So even if I'm well seated in Bernie's camp, it doesn't mean I wouldn't want to hear why Hillary ISNT so bad.
But I'd certainly like to hear a rebuttal that at least acknowledges her flaws as the facts they are instead of saying things like.

I have no faith in online mobs of people, especially in niche areas. Far too much experience in that across a whole host of subjects over the years.
There are people open to reason. Very few of them are going to be here. And topics like this from those that have absolutely NO interest in discussion are not worth talking to about it is what I'm saying.
And there's no easing of concerns either. That's just a gentler, kinder, version of what you said in your first post about it all. NOTHING will ease someone like Cosmic Kitten or many other absolutists in regards to HRC and Bernie. NOTHING. The line is not drawn in the sand for them, it's laser etched across a mountain with fortresses built along it.

(6,960 posts)She has never been a good campaigner.
She gives a pedestrian speech.
She is a poor debater.
After watching the Trump speech last night, I'm telling you, he will grind up Hillary into little pieces if the two of them ever debate. Trump is a proto-fascist at least, but he has style and presentation. I never watched him much before last night and I now see how he connects with average people. Substance won't matter in a debate with him, he'll be into his tenth round of applause before Hillary even gets out a "During my time as Secretary ..."
The counter balance and real alternative to Trumpism and/or Repuglican fanaticism is a Democratic candidate with passion, who will consistently, intelligently and wisely advocate a populist economics, an undisputed champion for working and middle class Americans -- that is not corporate elitist and political insider Hillary Clinton.

And now that the Republican's have Donald "The Fascist Option" Trump leading the pack Hillary will be free to update her 80's Republican stances to the 21st Century Republican stances. It's all good, the average voter can't see through the charade. Oh, and don't forget the "Madam President" argument, that's sure to garner millions of votes by itself.

(41,600 posts)I notice all you got in reply is, once again, a load of snark. Apparently, her supporters don't care that HRH has no integrity. That's scary to me. If Bernie was anything like HRH, he wouldn't be getting my vote! This reminds me of the Idiot-In Chief's supporters. In their eyes, he could do no wrong. Look what THAT got us - ENDLESS WARS (with millions of innocent people dead), A COLLAPSED ECONOMY, A COLLAPSED GLOBAL ECONOMY and millions of citizens who lost their homes and life savings. Yet, the 1% gladly took OUR $12.8 TRILLION bailout money - OUR TAX DOLLARS! The 1% comes out unscathed, while the 99% loses homes and their life savings. AMAZING how that worked, right? And there's people here who want more of the same!
