2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe greatest speech Bernie Sanders ever gave wasn't a speech.
It was when he refused to go off topic and talk about Isis. I think it is telling that all the threads talking about how horrible he behaved fail to include the video so here it is.
I hope Hillary supporters share this far and wide and Bernie supporters as well. Last I checked this particular video had less than 800 view. I would like it to have millions both in the US and abroad.

(14,020 posts)Jesse Jackson was complaining about the bad press he received during
the primary coverage. He cited his fishing trip with the Pope as an
example. He was in the boat with the Pope when a big wind blew off
the Papal hat. Jackson told the Pope don't worry I shall get the
hat, and he stepped out of the boat, walked on water, picked up the
hat, and walked back on the water. In a nearby boat the press were
watching over Jesse's walking on water with great interest and in
their typical way they annouced this in the front page headlines the
next day:
"Jesse Can't Swim"

(19,326 posts)speaking of Jesse, isn't it about time for him to endorse Bernie?

(45,251 posts)Being the choice of the party bigwigs make all the difference. It explains why the same posters who shredded Hillary in 2008, far beyond what Bernie's supporters have said about her in 2015, now post as though Hillary walks on water. I find it hard to believe that any poster or any candidate over 60 evolved that much in only 8 years.
And if Hillary did evolve from 2008, it was because she became more like Warren and Bernie. So why not go for Bernie? Why decide someone you called a fascist in 2008 is now the perfect candidate?

(14,177 posts)Someone once said that we wouldn't take Bernita seriously because of an illegitimate child. Seriously, most of my generation in my family has been born out of wedlock. We didn't find out til my moms funeral. My siblings four of them and I all illegitimate, the next oldest cousin of mine, two out of three of one aunts kids, and half my uncle's children. My mother pretended to be married for well over 30 years. The other's not so much. Anyway, point is a lot of people grew up with single mothers. Or with unmarried parents. I think they would be on board for Bernita and not hold having a child that she loves against her.

(14,177 posts)I think it probably was unusual. But, most men do stay in touch with their children even if relationships doesn't work. Unfortunately they don't provide in the same numbers as have a presence. So, it is definitely true about him providing for his son as being unusual even by today's standards.

We need more politicians like Bernie. Unfortunately, right now we only have one or far too few.
Do I detect that sincerity and passion from Hillary? Not a chance. Burned too many times.

(9,289 posts)There was no temper tantrum, and there was no need to address issues about ISIS right then. There was nothing but a candidate being strong and expressing his support for real people in Baltimore. It was a great moment for Bernie and it made me proud to support him.

(14,177 posts)in their "clever" take down of Bernie. Please share this. The number of views has gone up to over 800 on that YouTube clip. I am sure more people than that have seen the clip elsewhere. In any case it's also telling the "news" sources also did not run the clip just their inflammatory text.
