CBS/New York Times poll: Hillary Clinton continues to lead Democratic field
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-nyt-poll-hillary-clinton-continues-to-lead-democratic-field/
By Anthony Salvanto, Jennifer De Pinto, Sarah Dutton and Fred Backus
Hillary Clinton continues to lead Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by 20 points: She receives 52 percent of Democratic primary voters' support, while Sanders gets 32 percent. Just 2 percent support former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.
Clinton leads among many voter groups - men, women, liberals, moderates, non-whites and voters over age 45. But Sanders performs better with voters under 45 and independents.
Handling the Issues
Clinton has an advantage over Sanders on two important issues: more Democratic primary voters are very confident in Clinton's (81 percent) than in Sanders' (65 percent) ability to handle the economy and terrorism...........

(14,449 posts)I trust him more on economy, but trust her more on protecting us. Can we have both?

(4,558 posts)During the 8 years of her husbands Presidency, we experienced a surplus budget, huge job growth, and the economy that was foundering post Reagan/Bush Sr was turned around and a HUGE success.
It took another Bush to come in and ruin that momentum in short order.

On the RGB color wheel, magenta is the color between rose and violet, and halfway between red and blue. This color is called magenta in X11 and fuchsia in HTML. In the RGB color model, it is created by combining equal intensities of red and blue light.

(42,862 posts)Your meaning in the OP's title is obvious. The reader's attempt to interpret it as "telling" falls flat.
It's described as another one of those mysterious "telling" moments, but as per usual, they never quite get there. What exactly is it supposed to "tell"? We never know, and they never say. Why?
Do they not elaborate because they know that to do so would put them at risk of having a hidden post? Or, do they not get too specific because they actually lack specifics? Or, do they remain vague so that they can create the illusion of being a part of some "inside-joke" or that only the "right-people" are privy to?
Not that it matters. But it's fun to watch.

(42,862 posts)The "I've-got-a-secret" style of posting must be a thing that's becoming popular. It certainly makes it easy to make a "point" without actually stating what the point is. (Ergo, it's easy to defend when there's nothing to defend, or to give the appearance of being "in-the-know" or to have some deep understanding of a topic.)
It also makes it easy to make an accusation or insult without actually doing so. (Again, such things are not subject to being hidden because no insult was actually spoken.)
Not really big deal... but interesting to see how it seems to be catching on.

Bernie Sanders showed far superior judgment in this matter.

(12,874 posts)Qualifications are what they are, regardless of the voters. Just look at polls of Republican voters; if you go by that, Donald Trump is the most qualified candidate among the GOP hopefuls. Based on experience and positions held at high levels of government, Dick Cheney was among the most qualified Vice Presidents in history.
Actual record and policy is what matters.
Of course Democrtaic voters are not Republicans and Hillary Clinton is not Dick Cheney, but the voting public in general (including Dems/independents) are not all well informed and fully engaged with the issues and records of the candidates.
Who showed better judgment in the run-up to war in Iraq -- Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders?

I understand you either can't or won't address the substance of the issue I raised.
I couldn't care less about Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton personally, but I care a great deal about the future of our country.
What's hard to understand is why so many Democratic voters don't seem to care about the perpetual war that drains our treasury and recruits terrorists, or about the stranglehold the big money Wall Street players have on our economy.

(458 posts)Sanders represents his VOTERS a donor class... and has been consistent on gun policy for years... as early as 1990 being for an assault rifle ban.. even voting against the overwhelming wishes of his constituents on occasion... go beyond talking points:

HRC pulling Sanders to the right? What a joke. She is a political windsock... last time around she was Annie Oakley:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/04/12/clinton-touts-her-experience-with-guns/
With a D- rating from the NRA, Sanders is not with the Repubs on that issue, or any other issue. Really, HRC supporters have NOTHING... but their candidate has the backing of Wall Street.

Gun manufacturers don't have "blanket immunity", but the liability that was in that gun control legislation would have unfairly penalized gun store owners - also part of Sanders constituency. Not to mention, many legal experts have determined that the courts would rule against a
But Sanders has favored for years federal legislation banning straw man sales and penalizing gun dealers that knowingly cooperate in those..
I understand that HRC supporters are desperate to exploit anything they can against Sanders... and that's the only thing they can come up with...
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)NRA wanted and the Republicans wants. I have not seen the same excuse accepted by many on HRC vote on IWR, it was families of many who were killed who was HRC constituents. She has explained her vote and apologized for the vote, Sanders continues to say he comes from a rural state, maybe he does not know there are ma y other states which has large rural areas. No, I do not give him a pass on the way he has voted on gun issues.
modestybl
(458 posts)...she merely came up with a reversal and claimed that she "acted in good faith" .... after seeing the intelligence reports. The reports that lead many of her colleagues to vote against. HRC is not stupid. She wasn't "wrong" ... she was calculating.
She IGNORED her constituents in the run up to that vote.
No one is asking anyone to give Sanders a pass on anything... and I don't agree with all of his positions, but I see where he comes from. You obviously disagree.
But my fundamental problem with HRC is not only her horrific judgement, including her recommendation for military intervention in Libya, but her fundamental dishonesty. We will be paying for the Iraq War for decades, a million dead Iraqis, hundreds of thousands of dead or injured Americans. And she has shown no sign that she has learned anything.
