(36,286 posts)The image is taken and modified from zazzle.com stock photo for round buttons. The positioning, reflection, blemish in the lower left of the back button and the dark spot on the upper portion is identical to all their photos for "round buttons".[link:http://www.zazzle.com/round+buttons|

(5,649 posts)Sorry - I'm not really getting where you are coming from here and I'm sure you aren't trying to defend Romney, right?
LeelaDog
(6 posts)I am not defending anyone. I am simply showing that the button used in the image is an edited version of the stock photos from zazzle.com with 'Made in China' added.

(5,649 posts)but I don't think that is proof that his buttons aren't made in China (which is what a hoax would be). Just about everything is - including the American flag (how's that for a disconnect?)
LeelaDog
(6 posts)It is not proof that it is not made in China. The image is a hoax, the statement may not be.

Show us that this image is not a hoax.

These four distinct markings appear on almost all round buttons used on the zazzle website. 1 is a loss of shadow. 2 and 4 are reflections. 3 is a dark shadow. They are part of the background for their button creation template. To have these exactly reproduced in an actual photograph as well as identical positioning of both buttons is next to impossible. These can clearly be seen on the superimposed button image over the hand.

(1,362 posts)Ohhhhhhh, but it's on facebook so it must somehow be important.

(31,388 posts)has been made in the USA and marked with a 'bug' to identify the group
which made the buttons.
fb is simply a means to disseminate the story across a lot of people.

(6 posts)This button appears to be from Zazzle.com. They sell Romney, Ryan, Paul, Biden, Obama and even Gary Johnson buttons none of which appear to have a bug. I do not know if this commercial enterprise is associated with either campaign.

(21,786 posts)I've had a look, going back to 1960. Union label isn't on any of the Republican campaign buttons that I can see.
With union logo: http://goo.gl/cmCSb
The only Republican campaign button from any election I can find with a visible union-made marking on is this one for Goldwater in '64: http://goo.gl/ajifj
