(12,655 posts)which is why the bernie campaign is wisely not dropping the suit. this is much bigger than his access to the database.
it goes very deep, and now the truth will come out.

(12,655 posts)if it was just the access, then yes. if there is an allegation of collusion with evidence or even worse, that clinton accessed his files with the help of dws, expect all hell to break loose.

(40,416 posts)Regretfully, it is just not possible to change such large infrastructure this late in the game without a rather large outage. Whether we like it or not, we are stuck with NGP VAN as the DNC data provider. There is also a matter of cost, something the DNC would have a difficult time justifying.
However, I do think a full audit is appropriate. Indeed, why the security lapses?
Plus, I support the lawsuit going forward, however it is likely to be declared moot since access has been restored. (IANAL)

Software security is hard. Lots of companies that have a lot to lose repeatedly get burned-- why do you think Windows gets patched every month?

(22,271 posts)because they're the only game in town and have been for years. Second, if the lawsuit continues and the judge rules that an independent auditor be brought in, NGP VAN and the DNC are toast. Btw, those weren't "security lapses." They were intentionally put there for EXACTLY this purpose, to do a "gotcha" to bury the Bernie campaign. But, as usual, they underestimated Bernie's supporters and the backlash that is/will be coming down is something the political community hasn't seen in decades. They've no idea what they've unleashed here.

(3,655 posts)not once have I had access to other users data. A large, constantly changing database being accessed by thousands of users. Funny that.
