2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHey guess what? Trump sides with Sanders!!!
"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton "disloyal" for throwing rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) "under the bus."
Isn't that special?

(21,054 posts)No more...well, at least he/she is not a Repuke! Not good enough because, frankly, it is getting very difficult to see any difference between some with the "D" after his/her name and those with the "R." This is very, very sad to me...I have been a loyal Dem for years, but what I am seeing in the party are not values which I support.

(11,709 posts)Trump probably agrees with Bernie that chocolate is delicious and there really is not Easter Bunny. Does that make either statement untrue?
Or is this merely part of the Meme-a-Minute blitz Team Hillary is flooding the media with today?
msrizzo
(796 posts)Also, I think Hillary supporters have as much right as Bernie supporters to flood the media.

Wouldn't we all like to look like we did, way back when, oh those many years ago!
Gee, if they're so close (that IS what you're trying to imply with this ancient picture, yes?) why is Trump supporting Sanders? Why wouldn't he be saying nice things about his "good friends" there?
Is it because Sanders' staff (and perhaps The Great Man, Himself) embodies many of the personality traits of The Trump-eter? Loud, brash, bullying, wiling to take what they want, even if it doesn't belong to them? Inquiring minds want to know....

Anyone Hillary runs against in the GE is going to be a super moronic asshole and probably a gd birther like trump if it's not him.
And, the freaking money will be flowing in from the gop money bags. Remember adelson? Kochs? ad nauseam.
So funny they're desperate attempts to smear Hillary.

(814 posts)i got a HUGE laugh out of this from thr RNC of all places:
WASHINGTON Republican National Committee (RNC) Chief Strategist & Communications Director Sean Spicer released the following statement in response to the DNC denying data to the Sanders campaign in order to bolster Hillary Clinton:
Every candidate has equal access to our superior data file at the RNC because we believe primaries should be a process free from party interference and that puts voters and campaigns first. Thats why it is so troubling to see the DNC engage in such heavy-handed favoritism benefitting Hillary Clinton, a pattern which will continue tomorrow night with another debate deliberately scheduled to limit viewership.

(13,877 posts)They are just using the mechanics. Ditto for Ben Carson. That may be a problem in coming years. Or, are we ultimately headed toward a Parliamentary form of government because the either-or and hold your nose is getting a bit old?
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)The founders knew what a parliamentary was and decided it would not work.
libdem4life
(13,877 posts)a say, and right now they don't like either party very much. And I don't see that changing anytime soon. It is an old, rickety, scandal-ridden, good ol boy's and girl's club...don't get me started.
Then with this DWS crap ... Americans can be very resourceful. Maybe not in my lifetime, but the times, they are a'changin'. The founders were riding horse and buggies, using outhouses, and had slaves. They did the best they could with the information and experience they had at that time.
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)I would oppose any attempt to amend the constitution to alter our form of government to a parliamentary form of government.
Such a change would be horrid and make matters far worse.

...gotta love how only Clinton's name is included in the header, as if party politics was more consequential than cheating; or, as if accusations of a set-up were more evident than the actual transgression by the Sanders campaign sitting in front of us.
This is a good portrait of anti-Hillary politics at work; something which has been blurred across party lines from opponents on the right and left.
