(2,522 posts)... that it's hard to say any one thing could have made that big a difference.
But I take back what I said. People generally said Kerry crushed Bush in their first debate (and he did-- Bush looked absolutely terrible), and that Romney won his first debate with Obama. Both of them ended up losing, but it did change the poll numbers for a while.
