The American People.
Listening to TYT and they're talking about the debate.

(94,598 posts)...discussion of real issues for 2+ hours is a "loss"?

(23,720 posts)one of you guys have to jump in with the smart cracks.
No not because of the discussion of real issues for two hours. Because the American people are being robbed of participation of the Democratic process, by the use of unfair practices by the DNC.

(94,598 posts)They're being prevented from going to candidate events?
They're being kept from accessing campaign websites?
They's unable to search the web for video and documents?
They're being denied the right to vote for the candidate of their choice?

(23,720 posts)You know what I'm talking about.

(94,598 posts)...I also know that almost anyone who wanted to watch the debate could record it or watch it online later...and that Sanders folks keep insisting that Clinton is ahead only because of name recognition, and that "voters aren't paying attention yet".

(23,720 posts)You totally pulled the implication that it was for a more nefarious reason out of a place where the sun doesn't normally shine.
You have a good evening now. M'kay?

(4,213 posts)1. For whatever reason moderators decided to question two candidates and interrupt the 3rd candidate from commenting on his/her point of view. O'Malley got frustrated in the beginning and had to force his way in to get his voice heard.
2. Moderators fought with candidates rather than remain calm and question them. Martha Raddatz is great on her foreign policy issues, and was emotionally invested in the issues, but she needed to remain calm rather than interrupting and at times getting defensive because she didn't like the answer or felt it wasn't answered to her satisfaction. A good moderator knows to breathe and simply state that.
3. Their approach to enforcing the rules was to talk over the candidates so both were talking at once. It was quite simple to turn off the mikes if they wanted to express their need to go on. It was extremely tense, and led to Hilary simply outtalking the moderator while Bernie attempted to raise his hand civilly to make a point and was ignored.
4. The overall time allotted to Clinton appeared to be vastly in her favor compared to O'Malley and even Sanders. At times it was a monologue out there. The distribution of speakers was imbalanced often in the debate.
5. The commercial break analysis was jarring. I like to watch the debate and make my own judgments. The commercial break punditry was in poor taste. Let me make up my own mind. If I want to watch your post debate observations fine, but telling me mid-debate who scored and who didn't was insulting.
6. The pre-show well represented with the DNC views, and the continue reference to Republicans was inappropriate for a Democratic Primary Debate. This was not the general election, this was about who Democrats want for their candidate.
No matter who you wanted to win or liked, the coverage was abysmal.

(23,720 posts)but look how many people didn't have the opportunity to see it. Whether they're out shopping or watching the game. It was buried on a Saturday night. Sure, the hard core political junkies made a point to watch, but the regular Joe? Not so much.

(4,213 posts)Immediately after the debate my local news covered three things.
1. May the Force Be With You
2. I apologize
3. Bill won't be choosing flowers.
They also showed Hilary walking on late at one point. Really sad commentary on reporting.
