2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI still can't get over it. The way the DNC
has handled the data breach by the Sanders campaign, especially when compared how it handled the same issue in 2008, showed its contempt for a democratic process (and by extension, Democratic voters). This needs to be cleaned up sooner rather than later or the price will be high in my estimation. My two cents.

She has certainly gone beyond her Level of Incompetence,
which means she is very competent at pleasing the Party Insiders.

(4,377 posts)Seriously, in what world is that ok? She should have been removed from her position the very next day.

(8,168 posts)Fortunately the candidates were bigger than dws and it's basically over now.
DURHAM D
(32,610 posts)this would not have happened.
It is beyond belief that they kept the problem a secret from their candidate and he had to be informed more than 24 hours later by DWS. Senator Sanders needs an entire new team but I am afraid it is too late for him to hire the supportive/professional staff he deserves.

I wish people could just admit they did wrong and let's move the hell on. But I'm not moving on with this when people are spouting all these false conspiracy theories. Something pulls at me to set the record straight. Once they do, I will.

(34,845 posts)Sanders filed a lawsuit and DWS made a statement. How does any of this impact the man on the street? No one cares about these petty political squabbles. Sanders will rise or fall on his own merits.

(146,317 posts)A sizable majority don't even recognize either the DNC or its head. Only political wonks bother with such stuff. And most political wonks have already decided who they're supporting and won't change their minds.
Think headlines and news media leads. That's as far as most people go. Even on DU, a fairly high percentage of members never bother to read an entire OP.
It's not the subtleties of a campaign that influence voters. Not by a long shot. Voters make decisions based on factors most of us on DU don't even notice.

(146,317 posts)who give a damn about it at all. Here's what I think will be remembered from the who data issue in two headline style statements:
Sanders Staffers Steal Clinton Data
Sanders Apologizes; Fires Staffers
Net effect on people's choice of primary candidates = 0
Net change in probability of becoming nominee = 0

Folks on both sides of this situation are wasting their time, imo. This data story is not that big of a deal.

(41,600 posts)where corrupt DWS and her corrupt DNC think they're going to get enough voters to vote for HRH, should she, by some miracle, be the nominee.
Alienate TRUE PROGRESSIVES, Millennials, Boomers, Independents - you can't win! The numbers aren't there.
There will be no kissing and making up after all this Primary Bullshit, so.......good luck with that.
I'm excited about the lawsuit DISCOVERY phase. That should expose the entire game. ALL OF IT. DWS GOES DOWN IN SHAME and won't help HRH'S campaign one bit. The CORRUPTION will be exposed-finally.
