Hillary Clintons communications director defended her candidates claim that ISIS is using videos of Donald Trump to recruit members, but could not point to specific evidence of this happening in an interview on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" today.
Jen Palmieri said Clinton wasn't referring to a specific video during Saturday's debate when she said Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric is making him "ISIS's best recruiter" and that they are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists. Clinton offered no specific evidence of the claim.
"Shes not referring to a specific video, but he is being used in social media by ISIS as propaganda, said Palmieri.
Many fact checkers and national security experts have been unable to verify Clinton's claim. White House and National Security Council officials would also not support her assertion, telling ABC News they are unaware of any examples of ISIS including Trump in the group's videos.

(85,998 posts)...it wouldn't take much acknowledge that Trump's hatespeak is going to be used by all sorts of demagogues, including ISIS.
Yet this article bends back the other way to completely discount Hillary's statement that "Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric is making him "ISIS's best recruiter" and that they are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.
It's a defense of Trump which shouldn't get a moments effort from anyone actually concerned with his rhetoric, and it's made at Hillary's expense for stating the obvious.

(3,649 posts)All it did was refute the claim that Hillary made during the debate.

It didn't 'refute' anything. It stretched her statement to the point of misrepresenting what she actually said, and errs in dismissing her claim out-of-hand.

That's something which could only make it's way onto a Democratic forum as a slam on Hillary. It's a defense of Trump and a slam on our Democratic candidate which can only be seen as fair through an anti-Hillary lens.

It's not really surprising, as anything anti-Hillary is seen as fair game here.

(59,504 posts)When she drafted the UN resolution - conflating a 2011/2012 resolution that was vetoed by Russia and China with the resolution that Kerry and Lavrov led about 20 countries including all P5 and Iran and Saudi Arabia to draft.
This is weird for two reasons. First, Obama himself is not getting much credit for it and she purposely is not speaking of his actions - even when she speaks of pulling together a coalition against ISIS, ignoring he has about 60 countries in a coalition and that could expand if Syria starts a transition. Second, it is completely obvious that the two resolutions are not the same. It's like claiming credit for a nicely baked souffle, cooked in the same oven where you cooked one that fell after it was removed from the oven nearly 4 years earlier.

She mentioned the mosque for a reason. Again pulling the bigoted practice of demanding Muslims to take responsibility for terrorism. I once believed that Hillary Clinton was not a bigot, now I'm not so sure. Her attitude towards BLM and the above statement suggest she is.
In fairness, Bernie ducked the question on profiling.
And Martin O'Malley nailed it.

Trump is dangerously spreading bigotry and it's more important to try to find a way to bash Hillary? SMH.
