Who would you rather see choose the next 3 USSC Justices?

I get all the reasons why people hate HRC and lerv Bernie. I lerv Bernie too. To those that think HRC is no better than a republican, please consider this poll.

Antonin Scalia is currently the justice on the court the longest. In 2016, it will be 30 years he's sat on the court and weighed in on decisions for the past (almost) 30 years. Most of those decisions where he has been in the majority have been damaging to the fabric of our nation (Citizens United as one example). What decisions would a right-dominated USSC look like in 2046?

But to not consider the very real possibility that the next President will pick up to 3 (or more) justices is short-sighted and very dangerous to our nation. I fear for women, I fear for the poor, I fear for the common man and I especially fear for my LGBT brethren should a Republican get to make those choices.

So please, think about the options I've provided in the poll.

I purposefully didn't give the option of "other" because there is no "other" option. You either get a Republican or a Democratic nominee (or Independent but that's only happened once in recent memory) in the Presidential election (I'm not ignoring write-ins either but they only make enough difference to sway the election to one of the major parties).

when the Dems allowed Clarence Thomas to assume Thurgood Marshall's seat over 20 years ago. They solidified that hold by refusing to filibuster Alito and Roberts.

No Dem appointee will be approved unless we control the senate (and maybe not even then, given some of the Vichy Dems in that body). The GOP will filibuster any Dem appointee PERIOD. So, if a vacancy occurs, it will not be filled unless a conservative to the right of Scalia is appointed.

In the mean time, conservatives judges will continue to set up cases for the Scalia Five to rule on, further undermining democracy.

Than try and repair it or at least keep it somewhat even?

That's a great strategy.

The argument is invalid.

It is like worrying about the Titanic after it has sunk.

Had the Dems not betrayed democracy and justice in 1992 with Thomas, Bush v. Gore would have gone the other way and the last 15 years would have played out quite differently.
