Lena Dunham to Campaign in Des Moines and Iowa City, Iowa for Hillary Clinton on Saturday January 9, 2016

On January 9, actress and screenwriter Lena Dunham will campaign for Hillary Clinton in Iowa City and Des Moines. At events with Iowa caucus goers, Dunham will discuss Hillary Clinton’s record of fighting for women and girls, and her plans to create an economy that works for everyone.

Clinton is committed to standing up to Republicans who try to defund Planned Parenthood and she’ll fight to make sure that every woman’s right to make decisions about her health care is protected. When it comes to achieving equal pay and closing the wage gap, making women safe from sexual violence or making college more affordable, Iowans can count on Clinton to take on the tough fights when she is President.

The events in Des Moines and Iowa City are open to the public.

Her parents had given her the option: they would pay for grad school or a low-budget independent film. She chose the latter.
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/features/lena-dunham-and-her-family-of-artists-9765685.html

Not a lot of parents in America can afford to pay for their kids to go to college, let alone grad school.

She may not be in Paris Hilton's league of privilege, but she's still privileged.

Look in your sofa cushions. You can pick of one of her Dad's paintings for just under a half million bucks. http://www.phillips.com/detail/CARROLL-DUNHAM/NY010315/29?fromSearch=dunham&searchPage=1

Dunham's refusal to acknowledge her class privilege is just as offensive as if the white star were to declare that racism is no longer a force to be reckoned with. Does Dunham truly believe that she is simply that much more talented than other aspiring filmmakers who have immediate financial concerns -- student loans, bills, and rent? Or does she understand that these obligations essentially bar many of her peers from creative fields but persist with this fantasy anyways? If the former, she's narcissistic at best, willfully naïve at worst. If the latter, she's malicious. In either case, she is just another privileged person endorsing an unjust system, one that serves to benefit her substantially, at the expense of those who are less so.

Lena and Hillary are like two peas in a pod: two people that have huge names but are strongly disliked by many people.

The funny thing to me is that Hillary supporters are so out of touch that they probably actually think Lena Dunham is a popular voice of her generation

Ya. I am not buying that one. OOOOpppps. $5 for a little thing of ice cream? Poverty, I tell you.

I shit you not, I had not had Ben and Jerry, ever. Then we lost our Blue Bell a while back. I went all out, once. $5 for one of those little things, for my son and I. It was good. And it was $5 for that little thing.

We are thrilled we get ice cream again. Blue Bell finally came back.

I am not thinking Ben and Jerry has a chance in hell of hitting that poverty mark.

What are you hoping to accomplish with this? Do you think Bernie himself would approve of these kinds of comments? Is it so hard to believe that some good people support Hillary Clinton? Why do you have to try and tear apart every person who endorses her?

ROAR by Katy Perry:

Here she is singing the song a few months ago. Look at those young ladies, whose voices are never heard by most.

IDK who Jennifer Lawrence is. No loss in my world as I'm not into in show biz.

Hillary's biggest supporters appear to be women who will do their talking, unseen, in the ballot box.

The invisible majority.

Another unattainable, attractive, successful young woman quite comfortable in her voice. She also seems kinda clutsy, and can laugh at herself. She dared to commit the sin of taking nudies for a BF, was hacked and the men roared their righteous ownership of stolen nudies cause well... She should have known better. Even in that situation, she rose above all the creeps, being the better person.

116. 'Should have known better' huh? The excuse of criminals everywhere.
Fri Jan 1, 2016, 01:01 PM
Jan 2016

Did your car get stolen because it was parked in the wrong place?

Thief will say 'shoulda known better, know I'd be around, so not my fault.'

A 'friend' visits you and money, checks, credit card, other things go missing?

'Friend' will say 'shoulda known better, knew I was visiting, so not my fault.'

You get assaulted, raped, used or whatever by someone you trusted?

'Friend' will say 'shoulda known better, I just did what came natural, so not my fault.'

It's amazing what her 'friends' did and then act innocent - blaming her. As if one should always expect those one trusts to screw one over like criminals. When one doesn't live by that code, and wouldn't have invited them into one's life if one had known, not this 'you should have known better' routine.

Deceptive people not only decieve others, but themselves. They don't advertise their bad intent, because you wouldn't let them in. Public is public and private is private. What a sick violation of basic human relations 101.

But for the victim, it's always too late to know a sociopath, and said sociopath will never apologize or take the blame. Because everyone is supposed to read their nasty little minds. The human race is a damned sorry thing at times.

Glad she put this behind her, this is damned humiliating. I suppose it is a very common thing with social media, sending these pictures. It's why some won't have anything to do with it.

Fri Jan 1, 2016, 03:28 AM

I see nothing to hate about her.

Exactly who is she harming?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own candidate, aren't they?

Or is their a new political standard I haven't been made aware of now?

Feels like that Tom De Lay's 'Permanent Republican Majority' strategy - no other voices should be heard - if they don't agree, they are the Enemy and should be destroyed completely.

Do people really 'think' what it sounds like when they take such liberties with the minds of others?

IMO, it does more harm than good. It's a losing strategy.

83. "Independent" article from Proguessoid.
Thu Dec 31, 2015, 11:06 PM
Dec 2015

I think the comments from the author of the "Independent" article proguessoid linked would seem to indicate that even if her parents weren't rich they weren't hurting for cash. I mean, I'm going to guess that if some of your work is actually being studied in an art or photography course.
That alone doesn't give me pause or dislike for Dunham but if she's shutting out dissenting opinions on Hillary then I have a problem with that. I mean, non-malicious stuff obviously. This is what I mean when I say a bubble for people with a decent amount of cash. She should consider, if not coming to a Bernie event, at least visiting more places where the average person eats and chatting them up about politics a bit. She might be woken up a bit.

However there were groups involved in spinning "narrative" . Lena was one of them . Gamergate was about truth in games journalism that got spun into a propaganda war due to the people in question genders .

It was never about Quinn's gender , it was the fact that the people who were reviewing her game were sleeping with her . It then became a third wave feminist cause (can't attack a victim ,well that was the narrative used ). Brianna Wu was another ,she is still trying to stir the pot just recently after her patreon support has been suffering a decline . People like this need confected outrage to keep them relevant .
