She may not be in Paris Hilton's league of privilege, but she's still privileged.

first to insist they "have a Black friend," always tilt their heads for their profile pics, pretend to be radicals upstaging the prudes ("I kissed a girl, LOL, so dirty" , and are quite vicious when anyone breaches the safe space of sisterhood by noting that Clinton's policies might not be all that good: they just say "it's time for a woman," over and over
this is sort of nonsense played out earlier this week:

DUNHAM. Carroll Dunham, 76, of 62 Hamburg Rd., Lyme, a leading Connecticut realtor active in trade associations, politics, and civic affairs, died Thursday (Aug. 17) at Essex Meadows Health Care Facility, Essex. He was born March 3, 1919 in Boston, Mass., the son of Carroll III and Ruth Harper Pilling Dunham. He was raised in Cedarhurst, Long Island, N.Y., graduated from Milton Academy, Milton, Mass., and attended Harvard University. He married Carol Reynolds on June 4, 1948 in New Haven. She survives. After living in Lima, Peru, where he worked for Pan American Grace Airways, he operated Pierce Hollow Farm, a poultry farm in Southbury. Mr. Dunham was president of the Northeast Poultry Producers Council and also founded Custom Farms, a poultry farmers cooperative that pioneered the brand name marketing of poultry products. Along with his wife he operated the Dunham Company Realtors, selling residential real estate in the lower Connecticut River Valley. He was also an active real estate appraiser and taught many real estate courses under the auspices of various real estate boards. He served as treasurer of the Connecticut Realtors Association, which named him Connecticut Realtor of the Year. Mr. Dunham was a former Republican State Central Committeeman for the twentieth senatorial district and a member of the Connecticut Commission of Special Revenue appointed by Governor Weicker. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Edward Dunham; daughter-in-law, Laurie Simmons; and two granddaughters, Lena and Grace of New York City; and a son, Carroll Dunham; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; and grandson, Hayden of New Haven; a brother, Peter Dunham; and a sister, Angela Rogers, both of Southbury. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in his memory to the Brevillier Fund of the McCurdy Salisbury Education Foundation, 9 Mansegood Rd., Old Lyme 06371, or the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 70 East Lake Ave., Chicago IL 60601. The Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Bechwith Lane, Old Lyme, is in charge of arrangements.

(110,159 posts)Another unattainable, attractive, successful young woman quite comfortable in her voice. She also seems kinda clutsy, and can laugh at herself. She dared to commit the sin of taking nudies for a BF, was hacked and the men roared their righteous ownership of stolen nudies cause well... She should have known better. Thief will say 'shoulda known better, know I'd be around, so not my fault.'
A 'friend' visits you and money, checks, credit card, other things go missing?
'Friend' will say 'shoulda known better, knew I was visiting, so not my fault.'
You get assaulted, raped, used or whatever by someone you trusted?
'Friend' will say 'shoulda known better, I just did what came natural, so not my fault.'
It's amazing what her 'friends' did and then act innocent - blaming her. As if one should always expect those one trusts to screw one over like criminals. When one doesn't live by that code, and wouldn't have invited them into one's life if one had known, not this 'you should have known better' routine.
Deceptive people not only decieve others, but themselves. They don't advertise their bad intent, because you wouldn't let them in. Public is public and private is private. What a sick violation of basic human relations 101.
But for the victim, it's always too late to know a sociopath, and said sociopath will never apologize or take the blame. Because everyone is supposed to read their nasty little minds. The human race is a damned sorry thing at times.
Glad she put this behind her, this is damned humiliating. I suppose it is a very common thing with social media, sending these pictures. It's why some won't have anything to do with it.
freshwest
(53,661 posts)I see nothing to hate about her.
Exactly who is she harming?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own candidate, aren't they?
Or is their a new political standard I haven't been made aware of now?
Feels like that Tom De Lay's 'Permanent Republican Majority' strategy - no other voices should be heard - if they don't agree, they are the Enemy and should be destroyed completely.
Do people really 'think' what it sounds like when they take such liberties with the minds of others?
IMO, it does more harm than good. It's a losing strategy.

That alone doesn't give me pause or dislike for Dunham but if she's shutting out dissenting opinions on Hillary then I have a problem with that. I mean, non-malicious stuff obviously. This is what I mean when I say a bubble for people with a decent amount of cash. She should consider, if not coming to a Bernie event, at least visiting more places where the average person eats and chatting them up about politics a bit. She might be woken up a bit.

Not clear how Lena Durham has anything to do with this.
TheFarS1de
(1,017 posts)However there were groups involved in spinning "narrative" . Lena was one of them . Gamergate was about truth in games journalism that got spun into a propaganda war due to the people in question genders .
It was never about Quinn's gender , it was the fact that the people who were reviewing her game were sleeping with her . It then became a third wave feminist cause (can't attack a victim ,well that was the narrative used ). Brianna Wu was another ,she is still trying to stir the pot just recently after her patreon support has been suffering a decline . People like this need confected outrage to keep them relevant .
