I suppose if you live in some place like Manhattan or Palo Alto, $250,000 could be considered middle income, but in most other places it would put you in the top 5%.
Actually I believe Obama used 250,000 as the cut off to the middle class tax break. He always says middle class tax cuts up to 250,000.... Combined salary

Granted, there is a huge difference--those making precisely $250,000.00.
Depends where you live. Where I live, $250k is pretty good for a household income. Other places it's not all that wealthy.
