$100,000 a year isn't middle income. Deregulation guts mid sized industries and middle management jobs. The conservatives in Canada have tried to kill the middle Liberal party and almost succeeded. They really are trying to do the middle class in. That would be the people who see the shades of grey. The GOP do want to grow down people. Perhaps they've looked at the numbers and if they can force people into black and white thinking they would have a permanent majority if they make the right the capitalist party and the left party the poor party. People will vote their aspirations more often or something.
