he isn't a real psychopath. He doesn't have have the right fake mannerisms and nuance. Expressing emotions is not Mitt's strong suit (so how could he be successfully emotionally manipulative when he struggles with acting like a real human being, but, unlike psychopaths, he has not practiced feigning human emotion his whole life). So the call has gone out for real psychopaths to do the talk shows: Wolfowitz, Cheney et all are there to sell it.

(115,702 posts)they just don't necessarily express it in a conventional way. I'm sure you will be hearing from aspies and their family members soon, so I don't have to explain any further.
He might be a sociopath, except, as you point out, they are usually better at feigning emotions because they want to manipulate people. Mittens sucks at manipulation. While nobody can know what goes on in somebody else's mind, I'm guessing Mittens' real problem is that he has been isolated all his life in concentric bubbles: the LDS church, the world of the wealthy and politically-connected, and the world of the all-powerful CEO. In all of those bubbles he has been in charge of things and hasn't had to answer to anyone. He simply is not used to having to explain or defend his positions, and has no concept that he could be wrong and/or not understand something.
So he went and stepped on his dick really hard with respect to the Libya situation, and since he can't imagine that he was wrong, he keeps doubling down. A guy like Mittens rarely understands The First Rule of Holes: When you're in one, stop digging. That's because they don't (or can't) recognize when they're in a hole.

(3,590 posts)trouble or pain and therefore someone who does not have empathy, maybe not because he is a sociopath but because he was overindulged and coddled. Could have something to do with his galloping sense of entitlement.
