‘Big Short’ offers big megaphone for Sanders’ message

Mr. Sanders, a Vermont senator and self-described socialist seeking the presidency as a Democrat, has put greater regulation of Wall Street, the dismantling of big banks and greater federal regulation of financial markets at the center of his campaign. Specialists say “The Big Short” — which boasts an A-list cast including Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale — can only help get Mr. Sanders‘ message across to the broader American movie-going public.

“‘The Big Short’ is an argument for Sanders,” said Matthew Dallek, an assistant professor of political management at George Washington University, arguing the film encapsulates the anger and resentment many Americans still harbor toward the so-called “1 percent.”

“All good politicians are able to tap into emotional appeals,” Mr. Dallek said. “I think [Mr. Sanders] has tapped into that anger with Wall Street.”

The movie really is a horror story. You can't watch it without feeling profound disgust and sorrow.

And the disgust is felt for not only Wall Street--but also for the repugnant politicians who take campaign cash from the big banks. That money is Wall Street's way of buying politicians who will allow them to continue destroying America with their greedy, criminal schemes.

If we don't fix Washington and elect a President who will stop this, it will never stop.

Bernie Sanders is the only presidential candidate who will effectively deal with this mess. He doesn't take Wall Street money. Clinton takes their money which makes her one of their criminal co-conspirators.

I hope everyone sees this movie. Sanders and Clinton aren't mentioned in the movie, but the messages that The Big Short conveys about both of them are crystal clear.

Am I the only one who thinks most of the Congress right now resembles the one in Capra's "Mr.Smith Goes To Washington". Because of that movie some things changed in Washington. Hopefully the combo of "The Big Short" and Sanders will help see things repeat themselves.

as a movie. It's not a complete review of the issues surrounding the issues, but it is great as a start to understanding those issues. And it does make it clear that blaming poor people and immigrants for the crash is nonsense.
