Are you better off? Great reply...

In response to an article about Ryan's speech at the Values Summit, a user on Buzzfeed (screen name OoO) posted a great reply! Good explanation that anyone--even a conservative--can understand. Might come in handy. Thanks OoO, wherever you are!

When you're promoted to captain of a plane that is already in a straight-down , and through your efforts you are able to right it and land it to make repairs instead of crashing, then yes, it could be said that the passengers are not better off than they were before the plane went fubar under the prior captain and are not where they want to be.

They're also not scattered in smoking chunks across a field. So that's nice. Thanks, Captain #2. We're starting to gain altitude once more and will get back to where we were. It will happen with enough thrust and the right attitude if we can just agree to implement those things and stick with them.

To say that we should dump Captain and crew #2 for salvaging the disaster handed off from Captain and crew #1 is not logical, especially when crew #1 wants back in the cockpit and has been sabotaging efforts to regain altitude since back when we were still in freefall.

I thought the firefighter versus the pyromaniacs one was apt, but this is even more effective.

Sorry I can't find the screen name of the person who posted the below. I've been using it quite a bit on news article comment sections. Its not closely related to "are you better off than 4 years ago" (excellent OoO / ncgrits BTW), but is my favorite when I get frustrated at the CONNEDservative goobers.

[font color=blue] Hey, TEA PARTY fanatics, google "Koch Brothers" if ya wanna see who's really behind your so-called "grass roots" movement.....it's really an "astro turf" job.....do you REALLY think rich corporations and rich people in general actually care about you, do you think they want to hang out with you? You guys are being used, but you're too dopey to even realize it.....the rich are laughing at you; while you champion their lower taxes/no taxes, they're laughing all the way to the bank....When was the last time YOU were able to have a good laugh???? Three other short oneliners I like:

[font color=blue] "Can't trust Romney on anything..he laughs at every question..what an idiot..cant wait for November bye bye mitt u...."

"Mitt RobMe. Dodged the draft in France. Keeps his money in Switzerland. Sends American jobs to China. Because he loves this country SO DAMNED MUCH!
