UPDATE: (Obama 326, Romney 206) - Sunday, September 16th
Huffington Post just added Wisconsin to 'Leans Obama' giving him 326 EV.
Wonder what changed between last night and today?

(4,551 posts)But it's interesting the Huffington Post has decided to follow Nate Silver's way of setting up their Electoral Map.
Prior to today they had almost all the above states colored Yellow in the Toss-Up category. Now they have decided to show them all (except 2) leaning for Obama or Romney and have included statistical estimates of the confidence they have of projecting each state.

(737 posts)seems like its becoming a REALITY. I saw the websites "Republicans for Obama" and "Rednecks for Obama". It's good to see that they're even some Republicans (rednecks as well... no pun intended!) that care about THE COUNTRY...

(4,451 posts)Is strong Obama. We have a gay mayor in Portland!!! Something is not right with that poll

(5,912 posts)Still has a redneck majority in Southern and Eastern Oregon. Peter DeFazio is in a tough race against the Koch Brother candidate Art Robinson due to some redistricting and all out media blitz. Just because Portland is a Progressive bastion doesn't mean the rest of the state is.
And I don't think anyone is predicting Oregon is going to Romney, all it means is that it is less blue of state than Washington and California, but still a blue state. It just happens to be the 'least blue' state on the West coast.
Blue Belle
(5,912 posts)And I know that the state won't be going to Romney - in fact at no point in my previous post did I assert that Oregon was in danger of going to Romney. I made my point to indicate why Oregon isn't as "blue" as California and Washington even though out of the Congressmen and Senators we send to DC only one is a Republican. Peter DeFazio has had a target on his head since 2010 because he followed the money of his opponent and pulled back the curtain on how the Koch Brothers use astro turfing to fund candidates. Since then, his district has become more republican and he is constantly getting smeared by our local right wing talk show host and all around douche bag Lars Larson. It is naive and lazy to just assume that because the electoral votes are secured for President Obama, everyone will vote for the Democrats down the ticket. Oregon is just like the rest of the country where if there is Democrat in danger of losing their seat in congress, the big money will suddenly appear in order to elect a clueless tea-billy. This election isn't just about the President - we need to win back the house and the Senate too.

(34,108 posts)I still think a lot of Repubs are uncomfortable with Romney and while they may say they are voting Repub, and certainly won't vote for Obama, they won't vote at all.

(4,551 posts)Now they've taken Wisconsin and Virginia away from Obama and put them back into Toss-Up.
Not sure what they are up to today.
Well, Obama is still over 300 EV in their current projection so I suppose it doesn't matter too much at the moment.
There will continue to be some fluctuations.
