First Edition of HoF Hate Mail

Little snippets.. I must admit I told the sender of the DUmail near the end I didn't give a shit what he thought of me.

I will also offer that you are the worst kind of bully in that you seemed to take great delight in publicly shaming me as a disrupter. I think that is about as cowardly as it gets.

As my final comment, I think you do great harm to the cause of womens rights. You, and many others in your posse, are attacking some of your greatest allies in the fight for the rights of women. What makes it so tragic is that many of these attacks are silly, groundless and immature, but hey you still got to flex your muscle in the group and let everyone know who was in charge.

That is when I told him I didn't give a shit what he thought about me. Forgive me for using the word shit. I mean, he was being so nice to me! LOL And got this response:

I appreciate you revealing to me just how loathesome a person you must be. You are a liar, impolite, a bully and stupid. I pity the people that must have to suffer your bullshit on a daily basis.

People are automatically locked out of threads when their post is hidden, and others are still free to discuss the hidden post even though the poster can no longer defend his poor little self. But let those nasty feminists do it and boy howdy that so unfair!! Waaaaaahhhhh!!

The most nauseating part of that exchange was the poor Vinny acknowledged that he was here to stir the shit, and that prompted no response from the Skinner. So , message received, and from the very top no less: people can feel free to come here and stir shit with the feminists and the boss will hold your hand while you whine about their response to your shit. Got it. This little exchange, along with the inexplicable refusal to change to TOS to denounce sexism, tells us all we really need to know about the Democratic (sic) Underground.

If your sole intent is to have good feminist analysis without backlash from bruised egos, DU is pitifully anemic in this regard. Other places are much more friendly towards pro-female discussion.

DU is a great place for many, many OTHER ideas and conversation.

I agree, Skinner outted himself as not being as supportive to many of the PAYING feminists here on HIS board.

People's reactions to what we post are a pure reflection of themselves.

Their opinions are not a reflection of our rightness, wrongness, or value.

When somebody starts posting hateful, nasty, completely made-up bullshit (and lord knows we have seen it over, and over, and over, as described in your OP here http://www.democraticunderground.com/125518858) my reaction is not anger... it is curiosity about what causes them to react that way.

There are a couple of so-called "women" here who are as bad or worse as any of the men when it comes to dripping with hate and venom and perpetuating fabrications. They particularly fascinate me.

There are some serious issues, with a small disruptive group that make it their mission to oppress any woman's opinion. Now I know, this group says the same thing about women doing it to men, but it is false context. I'm just stepping up to the plate and saying "no more" because it has gotten out of hand.'

Feminists on this board could be more tactful, it's true, but the male advocates on this board could try letting it all the fuck out and discussing what is really bothering them, then a dialogue could take place without this veiled bullcrap.

At least they would be honest, and a real argument could take place.

It's funny that the first two excerpts are complaints based on traditionally masculine values: cowardice--the opposite of courage--for the first one and physical strength (muscle flexing) in the second. The third example is just unhinged.
