"One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd"

a journal about a woman that a man wrote? that is our first book? hmmmmm

Jim Fergus is a former freelance writer who has published hundreds of articles in dozens of regional and national magazines and newspapers. He is the author of three novels, and two books of nonfiction. His bestselling novel, One Thousand White Women, has been a favorite selection of book clubs and reading groups across the country for over a decade. The novel won the Mountain and Plains Booksellers association Fiction Award. The French translation - Mille Femmes Blanches - won the "Best First Foreign Novel" award in France, and has sold over 400,000 copies in that country. Fergus' most recent novel, Marie-Blanche, a sweeping family historical fiction that spans the entire 20th century, was published in France in the spring of 2011. An English edition of Marie-Blanche is soon to be published in America in Kindle format. Jim Fergus divides his time between southern Arizona, northern Colorado, and France.

i didnt want to miss up your pretty thread. so posting here.

also, .... we are not coddling authors, right? and praising f we see something we want to criticize. right? and no hurt feelers, lol.... cause even if there is criticism, there is always good too. and i have read the review ect... and this is a very well spoken of book.

i dont like hurting peoples feelers and sometimes hold back.

but,i am real tough on authors also.

but, i will see you this afternoon. i cheated and was gonna see what you read on chapter 1, and nothing.... you, lol.

Just remember the subject matter is fiction which many times mimics life or not.

I'm personally loving the book. What some of those women had to go through, the lives they had led up to the point of that train ride, Yikes! I find their stories amazing.

That's it! No more! You can't make me talk about the first chapter until others talk first.

Are you trying to trick me into talking about chapter one??????
