Those of us with "low post counts" realize how much better you are. I hear nonsense from republicans all the time about how terrible liberals are, and then I come here to take it from people like you. It would be nice to be treated as an equal somewhere, especially by people who supposedly hold the same views, but it is common to need a group of people to look down on and treat like shit. Just out of curiosity, do you think you became part of the "liberal elite" that right-wingers piss and moan about when you reached 1000 posts?

unfortunately, OFTEN.... often. not rarely. not occasionally. but OFTEN we have men beeline to our group, HOF and throw out insults, ect... at 1, 2, 3, and so post count.

now. why would a newbie, who does not know the site, immediately run to this group to insult us?

do you think maybe we in this group might have a valid reason to be wary of those with low posts counts, immediately coming into this group, to insult and disrupt us, derail conversation?

The other poster specifically denigrated people with "low post counts," which led to my response. There are plenty of interesting and informative posts on this site, and some really nice people, but I won't just sit back and get treated like dirt by people who think they're superior because of an R behind their name or some people here because they have more posts. Here's a suggestion for you and the other poster: since you two don't seem to think anyone with less than 1000 posts matters, just ignore us. What we have to say doesn't matter to you anyway, so pretend we're not even here. You don't have to go out of your way to try to make us feel unwelcome at this site.

fuck the low post count. i would say the greater issue is your inability to address an issue in balance, fairness and knowledge.

And you're right about my taking it personally. I probably would have more posts here if there weren't so many people who are down on "newbies." That's my issue. It's kind of difficult for me to worry about someone else's current issue when they act as if my point of view doesn't matter anyway. I'm pretty sure we'll both vote Democrat, and that's really all that matters. So go ahead and make sure the other "newbies" know their place if you want. I'm not going to play that.

Apologies to you and the person who started this thread. I have been taking things personally lately. Recently on Facebook, my niece's husband posted a picture with two refrigerators: one full that said "no job" and one with nothing that said "with a job." Well, I don't have a job and had nothing but condiments in my refrigerator at the time. There are plenty of other examples and reasons why I'm a bit touchy these days. I'll try to work on it. That's really all any of us can do. Best wishes.

when they disagree with someone with less than a thousand posts. I've seen plenty of other people who were treated as less than welcome, but I love the site and have learned a lot here. There are some really nice people here as well. It does appear that I took it too personally in this instance, and I did apologize. Maybe it is 100% all on me in every instance. Maybe. I respectfully ask you to consider the possibility that--just maybe--it is not.

This Poster was talking bout those WITH low post counts and suddenly extreme positions....specifically she said those with "long-term status" but low counts.

The irony of it, you validated my OP. We have had an influx of posters, who have been members for years, with low post counts all of a sudden coming in here to stir shit and disrupt. This comes after several feminists in forum have received rape threats. The people who did that have been banned, but low and behold all of a sudden there are dormant accounts that are suddenly very active and making a beeline for here - disrupting, getting a pass from the jury system. Hence, my fuck it.

In my defense, I was going through the latest threads and did not realize where I was posting. I just read the thread title and related to it. Then I felt belittled again (by the reference to low post counts)--perhaps through no one's fault but mine. I was raised by feminists and remember calling some little a-hole a male chauvinist pig in second grade. That was the worst insult I knew, and I learned it from Mom. It was the first time I called anyone a name, but it was funny because he didn't know what the hell to say after that. On an even more personal note, my life would make a lot more sense had I been born with two X chromosomes. Please realize that my use of the word was not in any way misogynistic. Right or wrong, it is slang for complaining, and that is the only way I meant the word.
