... I've seen that meme to reference old farts, also. Which I protest. Even when I was young, I would still have said the same. And I'm not female, either. **pouts**

you will merely have woman attributed to you.

do you? do you find when you bottomline, straight shoot, that you are disrespected? cause i am being respectful, or at the least civil, just giving facts and that seems to be unacceptable. like i read today, it seems like i am being told i do not know my subservient role or i am not submissive enough.

people have a challenge when asked a question for clarification too. lol. both my son and i, who like to understand before speaking, have found that phenomenon.

I'm quite sure that being a white male (and also on the large size, which doesn't hurt) relieves me of some of the burden of disrespect. But being a smartass offsets that somewhat. I have, however, been told I can be intimidating, which is always a positive for a guy, and never for a woman. (My grad advisor told me to consider a career in academic administration, because it was a good field for hard asses)

Questions of clarification: ain't dat the truth. I have offended so many people by asking such questions, which were immediately perceived as challenges. Since the whole point of asking a question is to receive information and not to impart it, it has baffled me from time to time. I never stop asking "why," which a lot of people immediately seem to interpret as "I don't agree with you." I wonder why that is?

intimidating. first i had heard that. made me take a step back in thought. i concluded the real word may be aggressive. so i guess aggressive behavior may be intimidating. aggressive in presentation, sound, tone, words. meh....

an interesting experience was getting a soft heart in my world this summer. i loved the confidence in that soft heart. it was interesting cause i do not know that i have spent time with that, and certainly not in my world, my family.

oh, we are all good people. that is not what i am talking about.

but i told her. she is so much different than what i have been around in a lifetime. fascinating. a learning experience.

To be protected and encouraged. The end to which the fighters strive is a world where war will no longer be necessary. As contradictory as that may appear to those who don't quite understand the messiness of reality.

a (very macho) neighbor decided to block my driveway the other day. as i was reaming him a new one over it, he said "dont call me names"
i told him if he didnt want to be called a prick, he shouldnt be one. and he shouldnt even dream that i wont call him one if he is one.
