Yes, I realize our Vice President said this a little while ago now, so it's no longer breaking news. I also realize that Biden is no stranger to the topic of violence against women.
"Look guys all you guys in the audience no matter what a girl does, no matter how she's dressed, no matter how much she's had to drink it's never, never, never, never, never okay to touch her without her consent. This doesn't make you a man it makes you a coward. A flat-out coward."
Because the hour groweth very late and things have gotten a lot darker for us, I felt it important to pay more attention to the few bright spots in the wilderness.
It's rare that I have anything good to post about Biden, or most politicians generally, so I was happy to hear him say these words. It isn't too hard to embrace these sentiments, as I'm sure everyone here does, and yet I hear so few authority figures take this stance. I think it's an important and positive development for the second highest political official in our nation to make anti-rape statements publicly. Every man who wants to be a role model should do the same.
